PART 2: This Man Filmed a Bigfoot Face to Face. CLEAREST Sasquatch Footage I’ve SEEN
THE TEN-FOOT LINE — PART 2
THE MAN WHO KNEW
Daniel woke up on the floor.
For several seconds, he didn’t know where he was.
There was darkness.
A ringing in his ears.
The smell of damp earth.
And something cold beneath his cheek.
Then memory returned.
The forest.
The three figures.
The stranger beside the road.
The message on his phone.
YOU WERE NOT SUPPOSED TO SEE HIM.
Daniel pushed himself upright.
His head throbbed.
He looked around.
He wasn’t in the woods.
He was in his bedroom.
Morning light leaked through the curtains.
His phone was lying on the floor beside the bed.
The screen was cracked.
Daniel reached for it.
11:43 a.m.
He had no memory of getting home.
He remembered standing on the road with Marcus.
He remembered hearing something behind him.
He remembered turning.
Then nothing.
Daniel unlocked the phone.
The video was gone.
He searched his gallery.
Nothing.
The fifteen seconds of footage had disappeared.
Every copy.
Every frame.
Even the backup.
He opened his cloud storage.
Empty.
His hands began shaking.
Then he noticed something else.
There was a new video on the phone.
One he hadn’t recorded.
It was only eight seconds long.
Daniel stared at the thumbnail.
The image showed his own bedroom.
He pressed play.
The camera was positioned near the doorway.
It was filming him sleeping.
Daniel’s stomach tightened.
The timestamp read:
3:17 A.M.
The video showed Daniel asleep beneath the blankets.
Nothing happened for five seconds.
Then the bedroom door slowly opened.
Daniel watched himself sleeping.
A dark shape appeared in the doorway.
Tall.
Massive.
Motionless.
The creature didn’t enter.
It simply stood there.
Watching.
Then the video ended.
Daniel dropped the phone.
Someone had been inside his house.
Or something had.
He immediately called Marcus.
No answer.
He called again.
Nothing.
Daniel tried a third time.
The call went directly to voicemail.
He stood and walked toward the bedroom door.
There were scratches on the frame.
Four long marks.
Fresh.
Daniel touched them.
The wood was still splintered.
Then he noticed the window.
It was open.
He was certain he had locked it the night before.
Outside, the backyard was empty.
But the grass beneath the window was flattened.
Something heavy had stood there.
Daniel backed away.
His phone rang.
Unknown number.
He stared at it.
Then answered.
“Hello?”
Silence.
“Who is this?”
Nothing.
Daniel was about to hang up when a man’s voice whispered:
“Don’t go back.”
Daniel froze.
“Who are you?”
“You’ve already been seen.”
“By what?”
The man breathed heavily.
“Not what.”
A pause.
“Who.”
Daniel’s grip tightened around the phone.
“What does that mean?”
The caller didn’t answer.
Instead, he said:
“Your friend is in danger.”
The line went dead.
Daniel immediately called Marcus again.
Still nothing.
He grabbed his jacket and ran outside.
He drove toward Marcus’s house.
The entire way, Daniel kept checking his mirrors.
Nothing followed him.
But he couldn’t shake the feeling that something was watching from the trees beside the road.
Marcus lived twenty minutes away.
When Daniel arrived, the front door was open.
His truck was in the driveway.
The driver’s door was open.
The engine was running.
Daniel stepped out.
“Marcus?”
No answer.
He entered.
The house was empty.
A coffee mug sat on the kitchen counter.
Still warm.
Marcus’s phone was lying beside it.
Daniel picked it up.
The screen displayed one unread message.
DON’T TRUST DANIEL.
Daniel stared at it.
His heart began pounding.
“What the hell?”
A noise came from upstairs.
Daniel looked toward the staircase.
“Marcus?”
Silence.
Then another sound.
A slow scrape.
Like something heavy being dragged across a wooden floor.
Daniel climbed the stairs.
Halfway up, he noticed something scratched into the wall.
Four words.
THEY KNOW YOUR NAME.
Daniel stopped.
His breathing became shallow.
At the top of the stairs, Marcus’s bedroom door was open.
The room was empty.
The window was broken.
Glass covered the floor.
But there was no blood.
No sign of a struggle.
Only a camera.
It was sitting on the desk.
Daniel recognized it immediately.
It wasn’t Marcus’s.
It belonged to the stranger from the forest.
Daniel picked it up.
The battery was still running.
A red recording light blinked.
Daniel pressed the playback button.
The screen showed the forest.
Yesterday.
The video began several minutes before Daniel’s encounter.
The camera was hidden behind a tree.
Someone had been filming the trail.
A timestamp appeared.
10:41 A.M.
Daniel watched.
At 10:44, Marcus entered the frame.
Daniel’s heart stopped.
Marcus wasn’t alone.
A man walked behind him.
The stranger.
The same man from the road.
But Marcus never looked back.
The stranger followed them for nearly twenty minutes.
Then he stopped.
He looked directly into the camera.
And said:
“He’s coming.”
Daniel froze.
The video continued.
The stranger turned toward the woods.
Something moved behind him.
A huge dark figure.
The stranger whispered:
“Not yet.”
Then the footage jumped forward.
Daniel appeared.
Walking toward the camera.
The stranger watched him approach.
Then something happened that Daniel couldn’t understand.
The stranger smiled.
He said:
“Now.”
The creature appeared.
Daniel’s mouth went dry.
The video ended.
He rewound it.
Played it again.
Then again.
The stranger had known.
He knew Daniel was coming.
He knew the creature was there.
And he had deliberately positioned Daniel in front of it.
Daniel turned off the camera.
His hands were shaking.
Then he heard footsteps downstairs.
Someone was entering the house.
Daniel grabbed the camera and hid behind the bedroom door.
A man walked upstairs.
Daniel recognized him immediately.
The stranger.
The man stopped outside the bedroom.
“Daniel.”
Daniel held his breath.
“I know you’re in there.”
Silence.
“I don’t want to hurt you.”
Daniel stepped out.
“Where’s Marcus?”
The stranger looked at him.
“Alive.”
“Where?”
“Not far.”
“What did you do to him?”
“Nothing.”
“Then where is he?”
The man sighed.
“You still don’t understand what happened yesterday.”
Daniel stepped closer.
“You followed us.”
“Yes.”
“You knew the creature was there.”
“Yes.”
“You made sure I saw it.”
The stranger didn’t answer.
That was answer enough.
Daniel raised the camera.
“What is this?”
The man’s expression changed.
“Where did you find that?”
“Marcus’s house.”
The stranger stared at it.
“Give it to me.”
“No.”
“You don’t know what you’re holding.”
“Then tell me.”
The man looked toward the window.
Outside, the wind moved through the trees.
“I’ve been watching them for eleven years.”
Daniel said nothing.
“Not hunting them.”
“Watching.”
“Why?”
“Because they’re not what you think.”
Daniel laughed bitterly.
“I think they’re giant creatures hiding in the woods.”
The stranger shook his head.
“They’re hiding from us.”
“Why?”
“Because we’ve been looking for the wrong reason.”
Daniel frowned.
“What does that mean?”
The man stepped closer.
“Everyone wants proof that Sasquatch exists.”
He pointed toward the camera.
“That’s not the question.”
“Then what’s the question?”
The stranger whispered:
“Why do they hide?”
Daniel felt a chill.
The man continued.
“Animals hide from predators. They hide from hunters. They hide when they’re afraid.”
He looked directly into Daniel’s eyes.
“But these things don’t just hide.”
“They observe.”
“They learn.”
“They remember.”
Daniel thought about the creature’s eyes.
The way they had followed his phone.
The way it had stared directly into the lens.
“What are you saying?”
“I’m saying it knew you were going to film it.”
Daniel stared at him.
“That’s impossible.”
“So was everything else you’ve seen.”
The man reached into his jacket.
Daniel stepped backward.
“Easy.”
The stranger pulled out a photograph.
He handed it to Daniel.
It showed a forest.
An old photograph.
The image was black and white.
Daniel studied it.
At first, he saw nothing unusual.
Then he noticed the tree line.
Something stood between the trees.
A dark figure.
The stranger said:
“1962.”
Daniel looked at him.
“What?”
“Same creature.”
Daniel stared at the photograph.
“That’s impossible.”
“Look closer.”
Daniel did.
The creature was partially hidden.
Crouched.
Watching the camera.
The same posture.
The same eyes.
The same broad shoulders.
Daniel’s stomach turned.
“How do you know it’s the same?”
The stranger pointed to the photograph.
“Because I took it.”
Daniel looked up.
The man’s face had gone pale.
“You were there?”
“I was nineteen.”
“How old are you now?”
The stranger didn’t answer.
Daniel stared at him.
The man looked at least sixty.
Maybe older.
“How old are you?”
“Seventy-three.”
Daniel’s eyes widened.
The photograph was taken sixty-four years ago.
The stranger looked almost exactly the same.
Daniel took a step backward.
“What are you?”
The man smiled sadly.
“That’s the question you should be asking about them.”
Daniel suddenly heard something outside.
Three knocks.
Knock.
Knock.
Knock.
The stranger closed his eyes.
“They’re here.”
Daniel moved toward the window.
The stranger grabbed his arm.
“Don’t look.”
Daniel pulled away.
“Why?”
“Because they’re waiting.”
“For what?”
The stranger didn’t answer.
Then something struck the side of the house.
BOOM.
The walls shook.
Daniel jumped.
Another impact.
BOOM.
The window rattled.
The stranger whispered:
“They want the camera.”
Daniel looked at it.
“Why?”
“Because it recorded something it shouldn’t have.”
“What?”
The stranger pointed at the screen.
“Your encounter.”
Daniel shook his head.
“No. You said they knew I was coming.”
“They did.”
“Then what did I record?”
The stranger stared at him.
“The other one.”
Daniel felt cold.
“What other one?”
The stranger slowly walked toward the camera.
“Your video didn’t show one creature.”
He turned the camera around.
“It showed two.”
Daniel stared at the screen.
The stranger pressed play.
The footage appeared.
The creature crouched behind the brush.
Daniel filming.
The creature retreating.
Then the camera swung left.
The frame froze.
The stranger zoomed in.
At the far edge of the image, behind Daniel, stood another figure.
Not fifty feet away.
Not thirty.
Closer.
Much closer.
It had been standing directly behind him.
Only twelve feet away.
Daniel had never noticed.
The stranger whispered:
“Look at its face.”
Daniel zoomed in.
The image distorted.
But the eyes were visible.
They weren’t looking at Daniel.
They weren’t looking at the phone.
They were looking directly at the other creature.
Daniel stared.
The two beings had been watching each other.
Not fighting.
Communicating.
Then Daniel noticed something else.
The second creature wasn’t covered in dark hair.
Its fur was almost completely white.
The stranger whispered:
“That’s why they came.”
Daniel looked at him.
“Why?”
The man swallowed.
“Because you recorded the white one.”
Outside, the forest went silent.
Completely silent.
Then came a sound from the trees.
Not a knock.
A voice.
Deep.
Low.
Almost human.
Daniel couldn’t understand the words.
But the stranger could.
His face changed.
“What did it say?” Daniel whispered.
The man looked at Daniel.
“It said your name.”
Daniel’s blood ran cold.
Then another voice answered from somewhere behind the house.
A second voice.
Then a third.
Three different directions.
Three different creatures.
All saying the same thing.
“Daniel.”
The stranger grabbed the camera.
“We have to leave.”
Daniel didn’t move.
“Where?”
The man looked toward the woods.
“There’s a place they can’t follow us.”
“Where?”
The man hesitated.
Then he said:
“The old mine.”
Daniel stared at him.
“What mine?”
The stranger looked almost frightened now.
“The one beneath the mountain.”
A loud crack came from downstairs.
The front door had been broken.
The stranger grabbed Daniel’s arm.
“Run.”
They raced down the stairs.
The house was empty.
The front door hung from one hinge.
Outside, the trees were moving.
Something huge was coming toward them.
Daniel ran.
The stranger followed.
They reached the truck.
Daniel jumped into the driver’s seat.
The stranger climbed beside him.
“Drive!”
Daniel started the engine.
They sped away.
For several minutes, neither spoke.
Then Daniel looked in the rearview mirror.
Something stood at the edge of the road.
White hair.
Huge shoulders.
Motionless.
Watching them leave.
Then another figure stepped beside it.
Dark hair.
The same creature Daniel had filmed.
The two creatures stood together.
Watching.
Daniel looked away.
When he looked back, they were gone.
The stranger finally spoke.
“You need to understand something.”
Daniel stared at the road.
“What?”
“Yesterday wasn’t your first encounter.”
Daniel looked at him.
“Yes, it was.”
“No.”
The man shook his head.
“You just don’t remember the others.”
Daniel’s hands tightened around the steering wheel.
“What are you talking about?”
The stranger reached into his coat and pulled out another photograph.
He placed it on the dashboard.
Daniel looked down.
It showed a little boy standing beside a forest.
The photograph was old.
Very old.
Daniel recognized the boy.
His heart stopped.
It was him.
Eight years old.
Standing beside the same forest where he had encountered the creature.
On the back of the photograph were four words.
HE SAW THEM FIRST.
Daniel looked at the stranger.
“Where did you get this?”
The man stared ahead.
“You gave it to me.”
“When?”
The stranger didn’t answer.
Daniel looked at the photograph again.
Then he noticed something standing behind the child.
A dark figure.
Crouched in the brush.
Watching him.
Daniel whispered:
“I don’t remember this.”
The stranger finally looked at him.
“That’s because they didn’t want you to.”
The truck continued down the empty road.
Far behind them, deep in the forest, something enormous stepped from the trees.
Then another.
And another.
Three figures stood beneath the fading afternoon light.
The white-haired one looked toward the road.
Then slowly raised one enormous hand.
It wasn’t waving.
It was pointing.
Toward the mountain.
Toward the old mine.
And inside the pocket of Daniel’s jacket, his phone suddenly vibrated.
He pulled it out.
A new message had appeared.
No number.
No name.
Just six words.
WE REMEMBER YOU, DANIEL. DO YOU?
Then the screen went black.
And from somewhere beneath the mountain came a sound that did not belong to any animal Daniel had ever heard.
A deep, rhythmic knocking.
Three times.
Then three more.
And somewhere far beneath the earth…
something knocked back.
