On December 26, a post about an alleged remark by Martina McBride on Beyoncé had gone viral. According to the post, which was shared by a Facebook page with the account name (True Freedom News), Martina made a controversial comment about Beyonce. The caption for the post read:

“Breaking News: Martina McBride Rejects Beyoncé’s invitation, saying ‘country music doesn’t need a clown in a cowboy hat.'”

The claims made in the post went viral and was shared about 1.3K times. It further received around 19K likes and more than 3.5K comments. While many Facebook users assumed it was true, many clarified that the news was fabricated. A user with the username (Taylor Brown) commented under the viral post:

“Everyone is so gullible on Facebook. Y’all please do 5 seconds of research before making yourselves look like fools. Martina McBride did not say this.”

Therefore, it is worth noting that Martina did not make any such remark about Beyoncé. Furthermore, it has been discovered that another post with similar false information was posted in July 2024 by a Facebook page with the username King of Acting.

Several netizens then clarified that fake bot-driven scam pages were meant to generate reactions to such rumors and speculations. A user (Tom Anderson) commented:

“This is a lie for clickbait. I mean, it would be the correct thing to say, but Martina didn’t and wouldn’t.”

Beyoncé didn’t receive a nomination in the Country Music Awards this year, even after releasing Cowboy Carter in March

Beyoncé entered the country music scene in 2016 when she released Daddy Lessons as a part of her sixth studio album, Lemonade. She even performed the song with The Chicks during the 50th anniversary of the CMA Awards. The performance, however, didn’t go well with many country music fans.

According to reports by The New York Times in November 2016, the popstar’s fans eventually accused the Country Music Association of removing the clips of the performance from their official social media handles to minimize the criticism. The CMA, however, denied the claims.

Cowboy Carter was her country music project that she released this year. Beyoncé’s exclusion from the Country Music Awards 2024 didn’t sit well with her fans, as reported by NBC News in an article dated September 9, 2024. The outlet also mentioned that Beyoncé allegedly claimed she didn’t feel welcomed in the genre. In March, the pop star said:

“The criticisms I faced when I first entered this genre forced me to propel past the limitations that were put on me.”
