Lil Nas X Arrested and Booked in County Jail, Faces Misdemeanor Assault Charge Against Police Officer

Los Angeles, CA – Grammy-winning rapper Lil Nas X, born Montero Hill, was booked into a Los Angeles County jail on Thursday following an early-morning incident that led to his arrest on a misdemeanor charge of assaulting a police officer.

According to a booking report reviewed by Entertainment Weekly , Lil Nas X was officially booked at 11:22 a.m. local time, after being arrested at approximately 6:10 a.m. The arrest followed a series of unusual events in the early hours of Thursday, when the rapper was reportedly seen walking the streets of Los Angeles wearing only his underwear and boots.

Multiple eyewitnesses called the Los Angeles Police Department after spotting the 25-year-old artist, prompting officers to respond to the 11000 block of Ventura Boulevard around 5:50 a.m. A spokesperson for the LAPD confirmed to EW that officers arrived at the scene to find a nude man walking in the street. Upon their arrival, the suspect—later identified as Lil Nas X—allegedly charged at the officers.

“He was taken into custody and transported to a local hospital for a possible overdose,” the LAPD spokesperson said. “He was then placed under arrest for battery on a police officer.”

Sources, including TMZ , reported that Lil Nas X was initially hospitalized for what was described as a possible overdose before being booked into jail later in the morning. As of Thursday, representatives for Lil Nas X had not responded to requests for comment.

The incident comes during a turbulent period for the chart-topping artist. Earlier this year, Lil Nas X released a new EP titled Days Before Dreamboy , which features singles such as “Light Again!,” “Hotbox,” and “Big Dummy!” In April, the singer revealed that he had been hospitalized after losing control of the right side of his face, sharing updates with fans on social media.

“Soooo lost control of the right side of my face,” Lil Nas X wrote in the caption of a video posted from his hospital bed, demonstrating the lack of mobility in his facial muscles. Despite the concerning symptoms, he reassured fans with humor, saying, “I couldn’t even laugh right. What the f—?” and later updating followers that his condition was improving: “I am ok! Stop being sad for me. Shake ur ass for me instead,” he wrote, adding in a later post, “it’s already getting better.”
