Taylor Swift’s New Year’s Eve Photos Leave Fans Confused
Several photos of Taylor Swift ringing in the new year are currently making their rounds on social media. In them, the “Fortnight” singer is seen in a glittery, silver dress that is identical to what the other woman in the said pictures was wearing.
That woman is designer Sonique Saturday, who is the mind and the artist behind the fashion house of the same name. It was Saturday who shared the photos of herself and Swift on Instagram on New Year’s Day along with a brief caption.
“Happy New Year Twins,” Saturday wrote, posting several photos of herself with the “Eras Tour” headliner.
The photos, however, caused a bit of a stir among Swift fans on social media. This is after it was revealed that the pictures were, in fact, taken last year. The photos were, indeed, from a New Year’s Eve celebration, but it was from a year ago.
While most supporters were led to believe that these were new photos of Swift ringing in 2025, there were others who were able to determine that the snaps were in fact from a 2024 New Year’s Eve party.
More than a few fans, however, were left in between and in a state of confusion as to when the photos were actually from.
“Wait so was this last night or Dec. 31st, 2023?” asked an X user
“You mean from 2023 NYE?” questioned another.
“Why don’t most know these pics are from, NYE 2023?😭” remarked a fan.

“Are these not from last year????? Taylor looks like same up do and same dress 🤦🏼♀️ I wouldn’t think she would repeat something so similar on an important holiday 🤷🏼♀️ Please show me I’m wrong 😑” a comment on Saturday’s Instagram post read.
“Yesterday or one Year old?” confirmed another.
“This was last year. Why post now,” asked a user.
Thankfully, the internet detectives were there to clarify any confusion. Some of them even brought out photos of Swift wearing the exact same dress and hairstyle from last year’s New Year’s Eve celebrations.
One of the photos even showed Swift with her boyfriend, Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs, and Patrick and Brittany Mahomes as the two couples celebrated the new year.
At this point, no photos of Swift and Kelce ringing in 2025 have emerged. What is known is that the couple was in New York City, where they went out to meet some of their closest friends.
Kelce and the Chiefs (15-1) have secured the No. 1 seed in the AFC. The two-time defending Super Bowl champs will be back in action on Sunday in their final regular-season game against the Denver Broncos.
