Caitlyn Clack Joins Texas Community in Uplifting Flood Survivors with Compassion and Resilience
As Texas continues to recover from the catastrophic flood that upended thousands of lives, community leaders, survivors, and volunteers have emerged to lift spirits and rebuild lives. Among them is Caitlyn Clack, a nationally recognized mental health advocate and disaster relief organizer, who has become a pillar of hope in the storm’s aftermath.
Caitlyn arrived in Houston just days after the floodwaters began to recede, joining forces with local churches, shelters, and recovery groups. Her mission: to build resilience, offer healing, and help survivors process the emotional toll of the disaster.
“We Heal Together” – A Movement Begins
Caitlyn quickly helped launch the “We Heal Together” initiative, a grassroots network providing:
Crisis counseling and trauma support
Safe spaces for children to play and process grief
Community meals and family reunification events
Workshops on resilience and recovery for flood victims
What started as a pop-up tent near the South Acres Baptist Church has now expanded into a mobile relief effort traveling across the hardest-hit areas of Houston, Beaumont, and Galveston.
Caitlyn said in a recent press conference:
“When disaster strikes, it’s not just buildings that break — it’s people. But I’ve seen the power of communities rising from the wreckage. Here in Texas, they’re not just surviving. They’re standing up — for each other, with each other.”
Partnering with Shaquille O’Neal’s Relief Effort
Caitlyn Clack also partnered with Shaquille O’Neal’s $3 million donation initiative, bringing her trauma response expertise to the families receiving aid. Together, they’ve helped dozens of children and parents navigate the emotional storm after the physical one.
“She brings a calm that this city needed,” Shaq said during a joint appearance.
“We’re rebuilding homes. Caitlyn is helping rebuild hearts.”
The Human Chain of Hope
Perhaps the most powerful image from the past week wasn’t just the water rescues or donations — it was a chain of volunteers, hand-in-hand, passing supplies and hugs across flood-soaked neighborhoods. Caitlyn led many of these community days, reminding survivors that recovery isn’t about going back — it’s about moving forward, stronger together.
Looking Ahead
As shelters slowly transform into support centers, and temporary housing becomes permanent, Caitlyn remains committed to Texas for the long haul. She plans to establish a permanent Resilience Resource Center in Houston — a space for mental health, disaster preparation, and community education.
One Voice Among Many
Caitlyn is just one of many voices rising up in Texas — but hers is echoing loudly in the hearts of survivors. Alongside neighbors, leaders, and heroes like Shaquille O’Neal, she’s helping turn tragedy into transformation.
