Cameras caught Los Angeles Sparks star Kelsey Plum trying to get a foul call on injured Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark during Thursday night’s game.
Clark was sidelined for Thursday’s game with a groin injury, and the slumping Fever certainly missed her presence. They struggled to generate offense in an 85-75 loss, dropping below .500 (7-8) after a 6-5 start.
The injured Clark cheered on her teammates from the sidelines, leading to a hilarious interaction with Kelsey Plum during a brief stoppage.
As you can see in the fan video below, Clark and Plum exchanged some words in the short interaction. It appeared as though Plum was trying to get the referee to call a foul on Clark for court encroachment, but to no avail:
Kelsey Plum finished the night with 21 points, three rebounds and six assists in the Sparks’ victory. Teammate Azura Stevens led the way with a game-high 23 points, seven rebounds and three assists.
The victory moved the struggling Sparks to 5-11 on the season, though they remain 2.5 games behind Indiana in the standings. The Sparks wrap up their back-to-back against the Dallas Wings on Friday night.
So far this season, Kelsey Plum is averaging 20.4 points, 2.9 rebounds and 5.4 assists per game. The 30-year-old is shooting 38.1 percent from the field and 33.7 percent from beyond the arc.

Caitlin Clark may have had to miss Thursday night’s meeting, but fans needn’t worry, as the Fever and Sparks have three more regular-season meetings.
They’ll square off again on July 5 (7:00 p.m. EST) at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, with the last two meetings taking place in Los Angeles on Aug. 5 (10:00 p.m. EST) and Aug. 29 (also 10:00 p.m. EST).
Seeing where they are in the standings, it’s not a stretch to believe all three games could impact the 2025 postseason race, too.
