Cristiano Ronaldo Urged to Leave Al-Nasr Amid Messi’s Impact in MLS
Cristiano Ronaldo has yet to claim any official titles with Al-Nasr. One of the former teammates of the Portuguese legend Cristiano Ronaldo, who plays for the Saudi club Al-Nassr’s first team, has urged him to “leave” the Roshen Professional League and embark on a new professional experience in his football career.

Ronaldo, at 39 years old, arrived at Saudi stadiums through the doors of Al-Nasr Club during the winter transfer market in January 2023.
Signing a contract for two and a half seasons until June 30, 2025, in exchange for a total estimated salary of €500 million.
In this context, retired French star Mikael Silvestre stated in an interview with “Norskebettingsider”:
“It’s incredible to see Ronaldo competing with Argentine legend Lionel Messi in the American League. It will be a dream for football fans.”
Messi has been playing for the American club Inter Miami since the summer of 2023, when he arrived from France’s Paris Saint-Germain, leading his team to win the Fans League title in 2024 for the first time in history.
Despite this, Silvestre emphasized that the Portuguese legend is very happy in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and is considered a “face” of the Roshen Professional League.
“It’s difficult for him to leave before the 2026 World Cup,” he asserted.
The retired star caused great surprise by announcing the possibility of Cristiano Ronaldo transitioning to the American League.
As a final agreement in his football career post the 2026 World Cup, although by that time, he would be over 41 years old.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is trying to renew Ronaldo’s contract with Al-Nasr Club, which expires next summer, for at least one more sporting season.
A welcome reception from the player himself, who wishes to participate in the 2026 World Cup with the Portugal national team.
It’s worth noting that Mikael Silvestre, who officially retired from the game in January 2015, played alongside Cristiano Ronaldo in the first team of English club Manchester United from 2003 to 2008.
