JD Vance to Speak and Host Q&A at Ole Miss Turning Point USA Event

Vice President JD Vance is set to participate in a Q&A session at a Turning Point USA (TPUSA) event at the University of Mississippi on Wednesday, honoring his late friend, Charlie Kirk. The event is part of the “This Is the Turning Point” campus tour, which aims to engage students and foster discussions around conservative values.

Vance will be joined by Erika Kirk, the widow of Charlie Kirk and President of Turning Point USA, who is expected to introduce him before he takes questions from the audience. The event will emulate the interactive style popularized by her husband, who was known for his passionate engagement with young conservatives.

Admission to the event is free, but attendees must register in advance, with priority given to students. Organizers have implemented security measures, including “TSA-style screening and magnetometer checks,” for all participants. Doors will open at 3 p.m. CT, with the event scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. CT.

Fox News will broadcast the event live on “Jesse Watters Primetime,” and it will also be streamed on Fox Nation. Following the event, a multipart limited-edition documentary series featuring behind-the-scenes footage will premiere on Friday, November 7.

Honoring Charlie Kirk’s Legacy

A TPUSA spokesperson, Aubrey Laitsch, expressed enthusiasm for the event, stating, “Erika Kirk will honor Charlie’s legacy in her very first campus tour stop, paying tribute to her husband’s tireless work to reach the next generation.” Laitsch emphasized the commitment of the TPUSA team to continue Kirk’s mission in light of the tragedy.

Vance confirmed his participation in the Ole Miss event during an appearance on “The Charlie Kirk Show” earlier this month. He remarked, “Part of keeping Charlie’s memory alive is keeping the mission alive. Nobody can replace Charlie, but if we all just sort of take little pieces, we can do as much as we can to ensure that Charlie’s mission continues to survive long after he’s gone.”

Vance, who was a close friend of the late conservative activist, highlighted the importance of engagement in Kirk’s legacy. “It’s not just that he went and talked to people or talked about issues he cared about. It’s that he actually interacted with people,” Vance noted.

The Ole Miss event marks Erika Kirk’s only appearance on the campus tour. Following the event, she will participate in her first sit-down interview since her husband’s assassination, which will air on Fox News with host Jesse Watters on November 5.

As the TPUSA tour continues, Vance and Kirk aim to inspire the next generation of conservative leaders while honoring Charlie Kirk’s impactful legacy.
