Oubre, impressed by Curry’s kindness, described him as an “ultimate hero” and emphasized that, despite his status, he is a normal person. Oubre shared these remarks on Paul George’s podcast, Podcast P.

“Steph is just one of those people who is a great human being and that made me want to get back better, faster in a sense because I didn’t know I reached him like that when I was there to be honest with you,” Oubre told George.

Curry and Oubre’s Connection Through Faith

Both players connected through their faith; Curry is a firm believer in Christ, while Oubre has tattoos that reflect his beliefs. This camaraderie and emotional support underscore the importance of inclusion within the team and how kindness can positively influence others’ lives. Oubre’s experience with Curry motivated him to recover faster after his accident.

“I formed a great relationship with him just on the god side and then also on the professional just how you work,” Oubre added.

Oubre’s Departure Benefited Curry

Once, the Warriors were the most dominant team in the NBA, reaching five consecutive finals with Durant and Curry. However, after Durant’s departure, the franchise faced challenges, including injuries and the need to maintain competitiveness.

In search of a replacement for Klay Thompson, they acquired Kelly Oubre, which resulted in high spending due to luxury taxes. Despite his talent, Oubre had inconsistent performance, averaging 15.4 points per game, and the team missed the playoffs.
