Biles reflects on bittersweet end to Gold Over America tour

American gymnstics legend Simone Biles is feeling bittersweet as her busy schedule comes to an end. After winning three Olympic gold medals and a silver in Paris, she was expected to take it easy. However, being the GOAT, it was only natural for her to dive right into the pop-themed gymnastics spectacle known as the Gold Over America Tour.

Over the past few months, Biles traveled across America, entertaining audiences while showcasing her incredible skills. Amid the excitement, she enjoyed some downtime, going shopping with Owens and even getting a tattoo. Now that all the glitz, glamour, and action have come to a close, Simone Biles is struggling with the end of the tour. Earlier today, the US gymnastics queen shared a teary-eyed photo of herself, clearly expressing how much she misses the experience.

But despite her tears, Biles seems ready to wipe it off. And amidst raging rumors of her retirement looming large, Simone Biles is looking to keep her momentum going. In a recent interview with Harper Bazaar, the gymnastics GOAT said, “We’re just so used to it and I truly believe it freaks us out when we have to pause, slow down, or stop. We’re like what’s next, what’s next? Let’s keep it going and keep up the momentum.”

Looking back on her time at the Gold Over America Tour, Biles mentioned that although hectic, it wasn’t stressful at all. After all, this was the only time the gymnasts could do their favorite sport without the fear of being judged. As a result, during one of the shows in Brooklyn, the male gymnasts decided to thrill the crowds with a hilarious Ken-themed skit, that had the audiences in splits.

Biles struggles with post-tour emotions

Coming back to Biles, she was already feeling the pangs of separation as the tour drew near. On the final day of the show, the 27-year-old posted a couple of pictures hugging Joscelyn Roberson and Jordan Chiles tightly. She also took the entire team out for dinner a day before the last day of the show. Now with everything done and dusted, the focus is once again on Simone Biles’ retirement.

It was after the Tokyo games that people speculated that Biles would probably retire before Paris. However, putting up a stellar show of grit and determination, Simone Biles was able to defy all the odds. Coming in as the oldest member of Team USA women’s gymnastics, Biles impressed the world by taking the crown of the gymnastics GOAT. But soon after the games were done and dusted, the speculations about whether she would return to LA picked rapid pace.

Speaking on the topic with Hoda Kotb, Biles teased the possibility of LA28 appearance by saying, “Never say never.” Ahead of the Gold Over America Tour, Biles expressed her desire to spend time with Jonathan Owens after the tour. As the power couple had been in a long-distance relationship since their marriage, spending time with each other seems like a necessity now.

Biles recently stated that she wanted to “cherish the moments that we get together… I’m really excited to go home, which will now be Chicago, and just spend time with my husband.” Thus, with things looking uncertain at the moment, it is up to Simone Biles to decide what she wants to do next.
