Why It Matters: Maye Musk has always been about her son’s brilliance. In a previous interview, she revealed that she recognized Elon’s potential when he was just three years old. This early recognition of his genius has seen him rise to become the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX.

Born in Pretoria, South Africa on June 28, 1971, Elon Musk showed an entrepreneurial spirit from a young age. By 12, Musk had even created his first computer game. He first moved to Canada and then onto the prestigious University of Pennsylvania in the US, studying economics and physics.
