Video of Michael Jordan’s $70 Million Private Jet Turns Heads
It’s extremely difficult not to stop and stare at Jordan’s air.
If the greatness of Michael Jordan could ever be explained without showing a single basketball highlight or the six-time NBA champion happily smoking a victory cigar in the Chicago Bulls locker room, it might be by simply taking a look at his $70 million jet.
On Friday morning, video of Jordan’s highly-customized Gulfstream G650ER private jet started making the rounds on X with a relatively simple 59-second video, but one that allowed viewers of the clip to take in some of the exceptional exterior features.
Among the coolest features of all, especially if you happen to be a sneaker-head, might be the silver-and-black paint job of the exterior as a noticeable nod to Jordan Brand’s famous elephant-print design, seen prominently on the Air Jordan 3.
The iconic Jumpman logo on the tail of the aircraft is also pretty difficult to miss, but the tail number itself of “N236MJ”—Jordan’s jersey number of 23, followed by his number of NBA titles in 6, and of course his initials—is a great reminder of all things Jordan just in case anyone forgot.
Here’s another look at “N236MJ” that shows the detail of the exterior a lot clearer, making that signature elephant-print design unmistakable.
Speaking of, that customized paint job cost $500,000 according to a report by Newsweek in 2024 after Jordan had purchased the jet.
But based on the replies to Joe Pompliano’s above post on X, it’s apparently all about that “let me remind you” tail number, pricey paint job be damned.
To round things out, Jordan’s private jet is powered by two Rolls-Royce BR725 engines that can approach speeds near Mach 1, and it can seat up to 19 passengers.
In lavish leather seats, of course.
