Patrick Mahomes’ new Adidas deal leaves fans baffled by price tag

The Kansas City Chiefs’ quarterback decided his Texas Tech jerseys were more valuable than his NFL ones

Patrick Mahomes' new Adidas deal leaves fans baffled by price tag

Patrick Mahomes left fans scratching their heads following his decision to sell college football Texas Tech jerseys at a higher price than his Kansas City Chiefs shirts, in a collaboration with Adidas.

The 29-year-old learned his trade at the university in the Lone Star State before being selected by coach Andy Reid to the NFL, and it seems college football is more central to his heart than the sport that made him a triple Super Bowl champion.

That’s because Mahomes decided to list his Galvanized-branded Texas Tech Red Raiders jerseys for $140, whilst the Chiefs’ jerseys, supplied by Nike, are available for over 10 dollars cheaper at $129.99.

Made from a durable double-knit polyester top, the latest edition to Mahomes‘ fashion range is designed to be a loose fit for extra comfort and it aims to use recycled materials as part of a bid to be environmentally friendly and green.

Further items in the collection includes gymwear pants, hoodies, t-shirts and a travel jacket allowing Red Raiders’ loyal fans to customize their wardrobes various ways of supporting their team.

This isn’t the first time Mahomes has linked up with the German apparel and fashion giant either, with Galvanized also producing a series of shoes such as the Mahomes 2 Impact FLX shoes which aims to support athletes.

With performance at the heart of creation, as well as sustainability, the shoe offers two colors at different prices with those looking to buy being able to collect a black pair for $90, whilst red is priced at $150. The shoes aren’t just for adults either, with juniors prices ranging from $66-$110.

Will Patrick Mahomes play in Week 6?

The Kansas City Chiefs haven’t looked particularly impressive through the opening five games of the 2024/25 NFL season, making it only more worrying for their rivals that they’ve gone 5-0 and have beaten the Baltimore Ravens too.

But fans will not see Mahomes and the Chiefs in action in Week 6 as the team watches from the sides in a bye week. They will return against the San Francisco 49ers, a Super Bowl LVIII rematch, on November 20
