Paris Hilton, Billy Crystal and Sir Anthony Hopkins are among the celebrities to have lost their homes in the devastating wildfires raging across Los Angeles.
More than 100,000 people have been forced to evacuate their homes as six fires rage throughout the city, with the latest tearing through the Hollywood Hills after the original blaze began in the Pacific Palisades neighbourhood.
Five people are believed to have died as a result of the fires and at least 1,000 buildings have been destroyed, including the homes of several Hollywood stars.
This has been described as the most destructive fire in the city’s history, with historic areas left in smoke.
The fires continue to blaze and donations have been pledged by the likes of Apple TV Plus as well as actress Jamie Lee Curtis, who confirmed she is safe.
The Halloween icon said she and her family would send $1million (£812,000) to a ‘fund of support’ for anyone impacted.

After thanking the ‘brave men and women’ in the fire department for their ‘dedication and bravery’ in tackling the fires, she gave her prayers to the five people understood to have died amid the devastation.
She concluded: ‘To the people who lost their homes and belongings, I can only imagine how it feels to lose properties and everything you own! My heart and deep prayers go out to all of you.
‘I cannot imagine the pain and suffering and fear that you are enduring.. I am praying diligently for our beautiful City of Los Angeles !! We are resilient though and we will recover! “This too shall pass”.’

Nothing – not even a sign of furniture or the posessions that were inside the home – remains in the ashes.

Historic buildings that have burned down
As well as celebrity homes, there are multiple buildings used in famous films and shows that have been impacted.
Reportedly, the Altadena mansion used in Hacks has been reduced to rubble with just the facade left of the 1915 Spanish Colonial Revival.
It has been a popular filming location for movies and TV shows for over 100 years, since the 1921 Max Linder film Seven Years Bad Luck.
The grand building has also appeared in Knots Landing, Ratched and Palm Royale.
Deadline added that the nearby Crank house is also in danger, which is where the likes of Matilda, Scream 2, and Catch Me If You Can were filmed.

NBC Los Angeles reported on Tuesday night that the fire spread through several buildings at the PCHS campus. Earlier in the day, the school announced its closure due to the fire.
In the 1976 horror film Carrie the school was called Bates High School, while it also appeared in 1984 film Savage Streets, 2012 movie Project X, the 2003 remake of Freaky Friday, and 2001 romcom Crazy/Beautiful.
It’s not just films as the TV reboot of Teen Wolf, which aired from 2011 to 2017, also used the school for seasons three through six.

Celebrities who have fled LA
A string of other stars have also shared harrowing stories of having to flee their homes, including Mark Hamill and Mandy Moore.
Star Wars actor Hamill said his family were ‘fleeing for our lives’ as they evacuated their home.
In a text message to Jedward posted online, Tara Reid said: ‘Now we are all on fire, all Hollywood is burning down Runyon canyon is on fire it’s going down now the buildings are on fire. We escaped we are ok but this s**t is so scary it feels like the end of the world.’
Kate Beckinsale also revealed on social media that she was devastated by the destruction in the place where she raised her daughter with Michael Sheen.
‘My daughter and I lived there for most of her childhood and most of her childhood is gone . Her primary school ,every shop or restaurant we used to go to with my parents and Michael’s parents -and devastatingly ,most of her friends homes .My heart is broken,’ she said in a post on Instagram.
In the same post she offered refuge: ‘If anyone from village needs shelter and doesn’t still have a number for me, please contact me on Instagram.’
This Is Us actress Moore wrote on social media she was ‘in shock and feeling numb for all so many have lost, including my family’.
‘My children’s school is gone. Our favourite restaurants, levelled. So many friends and loved ones have lost everything too. Our community is broken but we will be here to rebuild together,’ she added.
Actors including Ben Affleck, Jennifer Garner, Harrison Ford, and Chrishell Strause have also been forced to abandon their homes due to the fires.
Jamie Lee Curtis revealed that the church she ‘got sober in 25 years ago’ was burned to the ground and while her home was safe her ‘beloved neighbourhood is gone.’
‘My home is safe. My street is safe. Flying to New York and hearing the beginnings of the stories of the fire was very challenging to be far away from my home and family and friends and feeling very powerless,’ she said on social media.
Speaking about her pledge to help the city in another post, Jamie Lee wrote: ‘As the fire still rages on and @calfire @losangelesfiredepartment and all the available first responders and agencies involved in fighting fire and saving lives are still hard at work and neighbors and friends are banding together to save each other.
‘My husband and I and our children have pledged one million dollars from our Family Foundation to start a fund of support for our great city and state and the great people who live and love there.
‘I’m in communication with Governor Newsom and Mayor Bass and Senator Schiff as to where those funds need to be directed for the most impact.’
ITV’s LA Correspondent Ross King spoke about evacuating his home on Good Morning Britain: ‘The pictures are difficult to watch and like you say, when you’re right here in the middle of it, it’s the most destructive fire in LA history.
‘At the moment there are about 10 fires going on and the one that is very close to me is the Runyon Canyon which is referred to as the ‘sunset fire’ which is just a couple of miles away.
‘We are under evacuation orders at the moment, it’s not mandatory but I tell you, it’s such a weird feeling when you are packing up the car and you’re getting everything ready, going round the house, taking photographs and you’re thinking this may be the last time you actually see the house. Your heart breaks…
‘I’ve got friends, one in Malibu has lost her house at the beach and three other people have completely lost their homes in the Palisades. When you get that feeling, it is the weirdest and one of the scariest things that I’ve gone through. I’ve never known anything like it in my 25 years here in Los Angeles… It’s so scary!’
