Rumours regarding the future of FC Barcelona youngster Ez Abde have reappeared during the past few days.
Prior to the final week of the summer transfer window, it appeared like the 21-year-old would remain at the club and contribute to Xavi’s ambitions for the upcoming campaign.
Abde has a deal with Betis, and additional clubs are interested. Abde already has a deal in place with Barcelona’s La Liga rivals Real Betis, according to Santi Aouna of Foot Mercato.
The 21-year-old has been on the Verdiblancos’ radar for a while, but it seemed doubtful that he would join Betis given that they are not in the best of financial positions and need to make some sales first.
Despite this, it appears that Manuel Pellegrini’s team is still a possibility because the player is interested in joining them.
Abde is also getting interest from Bayer Leverkusen, who are willing to pay €20 million to sign him, and Crystal Palace in England, who are both keeping an eye on his position.
What is the stance of Barcelona?
What does Abde’s future hold?
Barcelona needs to sell a player in order to successfully complete the signing of Joao Cancelo and Joao Felix, both of whom they intend to pursue.
And given the attention Abde is generating, the Catalans may be willing to make a sacrifice if players like Ansu Fati and Ferran Torres are unwilling to leave.
The La Liga winners, according to the source, are hesitant to part with the 21-year-old Moroccan international.
In keeping with this, Javi Miguel of AS reports that Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez and the rest of the coaching staff want Abde to stay since they think he is the player in the present squad who most closely resembles Ousmane Dembele in terms of profile.
This summer, Xavi is prepared to stop the young attacker’s winger and is ready to show him that he is appreciated by giving him regular playing time.
A transfer to Real Betis would be unlikely if Barcelona is obliged to sell Abde due to the Fair Play problem, in which case they will look for offers of at least €30 million.
It is still unclear how the article will turn out because Abde’s agent is presently present at the Barcelona headquarters. The situation is still completely open for now.
