Jay-Z and Beyoncé Prove Their Family Is Still Standing Strong With Appearance At ‘Mufasa’ Premiere Amid Allegations
Following the allegations of assault filed against Jay-Z last week, the American rapper had stated that he focuses on putting his family first, fearing for how his kids might feel about the accusations.
Today, the rapper, along with his wife, Beyoncé, attended the premiere of the live action movie Mufasa: The Lion King where both Beyoncé and Blue Ivy voice characters. The three appeared at the premiere in a statement that shows family unity.
The three appeared at the Dolby Theatre
Jay-Z, Beyoncé, and Blue Ivy made an appearance together on the red carpet at the Dolby Theatre, the place most known for hosting the Oscars to attend the premiere of Mufasa: The Lion King on Monday night.
This comes after allegations made towards Jay-Z
Only last week, the rapper — real name Shawn Carter — was roped into one of the lawsuits filed against Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, with a lawsuit filed accusing both of assaulting a girl at an MTV VMAs afterparty in 2000.
The two rappers responded denying the accusations, with Jay-Z making a focus on the importance of family in his statement.
The Carters presented a united front
Following Jay-Z’s statement which focused mainly on his determination to be present for his kids, the Knowles-Carters arrived at the movie premiere with no fanfare.
Beyoncé and her daughter Blue Ivy both voice characters in the live action prequel, with the former being the voice of Nala and the latter of Princess Kiara.
They came and went as quickly as they could
While there wasn’t much of a fuss upon their arrival, the Carters seemed to have come and went as fast as they could, having only posed for photos without walking the red carpet or speaking to any of the media.
Jay-Z and Beyoncé were not listed guests
The artist couple were not previously listed on the anticipated guest list prior to the day of the premiere, but were seen at the event on Monday.
Beyoncé’s mother also joined the trio for a family photo on the red carpet.
Beyoncé and Blue Ivy stepped onstage
The star singer and her 12-year-old daughter stepped onstage with director Barry Jenkins and songwriter Lin-Manuel Miranda to introduce the movie.
The mother-daughter duo were holding hands as they stepped down from the stage to join the audience at their seats as the movie began.
The mother and singer kept the spotlight on her daughter
Although both Beyoncé and Blue Ivy were involved in the making of the live action movie, the Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It) singer made sure to keep the spotlight on her daughter.
Following the premiere event, the mother shared a photo of Blue Ivy on the red carpet on social media.
Beyoncé gushed over her 12-year-old
The singer and business woman kept the spotlight on her 12-year-old daughter, posting a picture of her posing on the red carpet on Instagram with a loving caption.
The movie is meant to be a prequel
Mufasa: The Lion King is meant to be a live action prequel to the 2019 live action The Lion King produced by Disney.
The prequel tells the story of Mufasa and Scar and how they grew up together as friends before having to face a common enemy.
Only recently the family faced legal accusations
Jay-Z, Beyoncé and Blue Ivy arrived at the premiere of the movie to prove a strong front after the family was pulled into legal issues last week.
The American rapper had denied all allegations of assault filed against him, calling them a “blackmail attempt” that are “heinous in nature.”
