Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid is taking plenty of heat in the media for a number of his decisions during Sunday’s blowout loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX.

Known for putting his players in position to succeed, Reid did quite the opposite at least on one specific play during last night’s 40-22 beatdown. Eagles star pass rusher Josh Sweat ruined the game for the Chiefs offensive line, racking up 2.5 sacks and six tackles on the night.

Despite his terrorizing the Chiefs offensive line, the coaching staff thought it would be a good idea to leave him on an island against future Hall of Fame tight end Travis Kelce. Most in the football world know that’s a mismatch due to Kelce’s ineffectiveness as a blocker.

Former NFL offensive lineman Brian Baldinger pointed out the issue on social media.

“Watch the takeoff here of Josh Sweat. I mean, is that really Kelce supposed to block him? Like that was Kelce on him, what was he doing on Josh Sweat? How do you get caught like that? Ah, that’s boneheaded,” Baldinger said.

Fans couldn’t quite believe the mistake from Reid and company.

“Back to back plays. Andy Reid might’ve coached his worst game as a Chief,” one fan said.

“That’s a terrible blocking scheme lol,” added another.

“Coaches lost this game more than the players did,” added a third.

“Josh Sweat made KC’s right tackle look like a small child getting thrown around and they thought putting Travis in front of him would slow him down? What? Lol,” questioned another.

Kelce managed just 39 yards on four receptions during the game.
