The Golden State Warriors met their first home game defeat against the Los Angeles Clippers on Sunday. Chase Center watched their Warriors fall behind James Harden and Co. 104-112. But, the major concern coming out of the game is Stephen Curry‘s health. The PG exited in the fourth quarter after aggravating an ankle injury.

ESPN’s Shams Charania has the reports regarding the Baby-Faced Assassin’s sprains. The senior insider says: “Stephen Curry had an MRI this morning in the Bay Area. Warriors officials do not believe that it’s a serious sprain for Steph Curry.” Well, this is good news for the team and the Dub Nation. However, given Curry’s history with ankle injuries caution becomes the top priority.

Charania further updated: “He’s had plenty of ankle sprains, especially in the early parts of his career. They don’t have a firm sense of a timetable as of yet. But the feeling going into today was evaluating Stephen Curry day-to-day. The swelling, the mobility, and how that reacts to treatment. And other rehab obligations that he’s gonna have now today and into the next day.”

Stephen Curry might not be entirely ready to go for the Dubs in their next game against the Pelicans on Tuesday. Nevertheless, coach Steve Kerr surely has a backup option ready to take over the point guard duties if Steph doesn’t play. However, the chances are high that the 10x NBA All-Star may not be around for a game or two. Given the packed schedule the Warriors have lined up in the upcoming days, Steph’s role would be crucial. So, the team will most likely prioritize his recovery besides the games.

A tight schedule for the Dubs and a possible temporary PG for Stephen Curry’s absence

NBA insider Anthony Slater has informed: “Steph Curry will miss the Warriors’ next two games against the Pelicans after his ankle sprain last night, I’m told. No structural damage. Evaluated again Friday prior to the five-game road trip.” This means the Bay Area team has to restructure the vacant spot Curry will leave behind temporarily.

Coach Kerr’s boys will be facing the New Orlean Pelicans on Tuesday at Smoothie King Center and Chase Center on Wednesday. Following this, “they go on a five-game road trip from Nov 2-10,” Shams Charania informed. The Dubs will open their road-trip games against the Houston Rockets and then take over the Washington Wizards. And in the interim, Stephen Curry will miss two games, and Steve Kerr has a temporary replacement ready.

The 21-year-old Brandin Podziemski would be filling in for Chef Curry as the point guard of the Golden State Warriors. In the 2023/24 season, Brandin played 74 games and averaged 9.2 points per game. Well, you may regard this stat as unimpressive, but the newbie’s skills and on-court presence are quite entertaining. Besides, there aren’t many options available to take over Stephen Curry’s duties in his absence, so adjustments are necessary.

The Warriors now face a critical stretch without their star guard at full strength. Stephen Curry’s recovery remains day-to-day, and Brandin Podziemski’s time to shine has arrived. With a grueling schedule ahead, the Warriors must stay focused and resilient, adjusting their strategies to keep momentum. Curry’s health is a priority, but every game counts in this early season. Dub Nation will be watching closely, eager to see how the team steps up.
