LeBron James and his son Bronny James are about to ball in a different kind of court! The father-son duo got name-dropped in a fresh lawsuit just hours before making their debut in the Tuesday LA Lakers game.
LeBron James and Bronny James were allegedly involved in an auto crash back in November 2022, and now the victim wants some compensation.
LeBron James And Bronny James Were Sued By Two Plaintiffs In The Lawsuit
Court documents showed two plaintiffs, namely April Almanza Lopez and Kiara Rae McGillen, accuse the two athletes of crashing into the car nearly two years ago.
Lopez and McGillen explained that the incident occurred on a highway on November 13, 2022, in Littlerock, California. The two plaintiffs noted that the accident left them with severe injuries that will require further medical attention.
They also claimed the affected car was severely damaged and lost all financial value due to the impact of the wreck. TMZ noted that LeBron and Bronny were sued for unspecified damages.
The Pair Opened The Season With A Huge Win For The Lakers
Despite the timing of the lawsuit, LeBron and his son had the time of their lives on the Crypto.com Arena basketball court.
The pair played in the season-opening game between the Lakers and Timberwolves, which ended with the former recording a 110 victory over the latter’s 103 points.
LeBron reacted to the victory on his Instagram page, writing, “NEVER FORGET THAT MOMENT FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE.” The game made history as the first time LeBron and his son Bronny would play in a game on the same team.

Bronny played his first ever NBA game during a Summer League game in July, and it did not go well with some fans who credited nepotism for his career. The Blast noted that LeBron explained that none of the negative comments got to his son because he did not care.
“I actually cared a little bit when I came in [as a rookie]. I wanted people to like me, and some of the things that people were saying about me kind of bothered me early on in my career. I let it get to me. Bronny doesn’t give a f—,” the legend stated to ESPN’s Dave McMenamin.
The 39-year-old added that Bronny works hard and plays twice as much as he emphasized that he “does not care about nobody.”
“He doesn’t even listen to that stuff. He’s like the coolest. He’s like the complete opposite of his dad. His dad will say something. Bro does not care. Everything that’s being said about him, he really does not care.” Lebron concluded.
LeBron James Described Bronny Joining The NBA As His Greatest Accomplishment
LeBron has been consistent with his pride over his son’s career. He described the opportunity to play alongside his son in an interview on “Today” in July. “When it comes to basketball, it’s the greatest accomplishment that I’ve ever had,” LeBron said before adding:
“There’s no greater accomplishment that will be able to overtake me being on the same floor as my son. it’s the greatest thing that’s ever happened.”
Bronny and LeBron’s fate on the Lakers may have been written in the stars because shortly after Bronny was drafted, his father signed another contract with the LA team. The pair have made history as the first father-son duo to play in the league at the same time.
Bronny James Experienced A Major Health Scare Last Year
Bronny’s debut almost did not happen. Last year, he suffered a cardiac arrest during practice at USC.
“Yesterday while practicing, Bronny James suffered a cardiac arrest. The medical staff was able to treat Bronny and take him to the hospital. He is now in stable condition and no longer in the ICU,” a representative revealed the day following the cardiac arrest.
It was later revealed that the 20-year-old had a treatable congenital heart defect. He went into surgery after the incident and eventually made his USC debut in December.
