Making Big Headlines, Simone Biles’ Reason Behind ‘Prada Bob’ May Link to $4 Million Worth Actress

Simone Biles is flipping the script once again—this time, it’s all about her hair! From changing the way people think about mental health to proving that age is just a number with her Olympic victories at 27, she’s always ahead of the game. And of course, her style is always on point, whether it’s with fashion statements or rocking a fresh new look. Now, when it comes to her hair, Simone’s not shy about it. She’s been known to say, “Don’t come for me about my hair,” and honestly, we get it. Her hair is gorgeous, and right now, she’s fully in her bob era.

Fast forward to November 30, and Simone shared another mirror selfie, this time with her husband, Jonathan Owens. They were dressed down in neutral sweatpants and long-sleeve shirts, but once again, Simone’s bob was the star. She styled it with soft curls at the edges, giving it that effortlessly chic vibe. “I cut my hair,” she captioned the shot, and it was clear she was loving the new look. Just a few days before, she wore her hair in a high ponytail for Jonathan’s Thanksgiving Day football game. Simone’s switching things up, and it’s looking amazing.

Now here’s the cool part: Simone’s new bob is actually part of a bigger trend—the “Prada Bob.” This style has been all the rage among celebrities this year. Simone’s new cut looks a lot like the one Joey King wore at the Cannes Film Festival earlier in the year. Celebrity hairstylist Dimitris Giannetos, who created Joey’s look, described the Prada Bob as a short, blunt cut that swoops inward just above the jawline, with an asymmetric feel. It gives the illusion of being a little longer toward the nape of the neck.

Simone Biles has never kept quiet on how she handles backlash, especially on her hair. She has learned very well to deal with negativity from social media, such as the time when Simone Biles posted pictures of her wedding day with Jonathan Owens in 2023, where some internet users criticized her hair as messy. However, Biles was not one of those bothered by the outside noise directing her attention away from her performances.“I don’t really care if my edges aren’t smooth,” she said. “I never thought about my hair the way other people see it.”

Fast forward to this year, just before the Paris Olympics, Biles received the hair criticism again. One sunny summer day she filmed herself in France and styled a high ponytail, which she shared on Instagram. While she captioned it, “Don’t come for me about my hair. IT WAS DONE but bus has NO AC & it’s like 9,000 degrees … oh & a 45 min ride.” Biles followed up with another post, telling critics, “Next time you wanna comment on a black girl’s hair. JUST DON’T.”

Earlier this year, Biles spoke to Elle magazine about embracing her natural hair and the hair texture for the first time. This is not the first time she is speaking on this, since she has previously discussed her transition to accepting the natural hair look. “I used to worry about [my hair being considered] not professional,” she admitted. “But I’m not embarrassed about it anymore.” Simone Biles possesses naturally curly, coily hair, the type that comes with most Black women. She also said she had never mastered how to set her hair, perhaps because she always left it to the so-called ‘hair experts.’ Later in her career, when she became successful, she decided it was time to fully accept her hair, and now it is a part of her journey to accept herself. And it appears like she has a thing for changing hairstyles.
