Kansas City Chiefs’ tight end Travis Kelce shared a lighthearted moment with teammates and showed his appreciation for his girlfriend, Taylor Swift, during a pregame discussion ahead of the Chiefs’ game against the Las Vegas Raiders this Sunday.
Joining the Chiefs’ star-studded lineup of teammates Patrick Mahomes, Harrison Butker, Nick Bolton, Justin Reid, and Chris Jones, Kelce joked with Chiefs’ announcer Mitch Holthus in a way that thrilled fans.
In a playful exchange, Holthus asked Kelce, “Do you love me more than Taylor?” After pausing to think, Kelce grinned and replied, “Probably not,” which drew laughter from the team and audience.
Fans quickly celebrated the humorous moment on social media, with one user commenting, “It really makes me happy whenever he talks about her.”
Kelce’s remarks came just after the latest episode of the “New Heights” podcast he co-hosts with his brother, former NFL player Jason Kelce. During the episode, the Kelce brothers discussed Swift’s recent performances on her “Eras Tour.” Travis praised Taylor for braving heavy rain during her Miami concert last weekend at Hard Rock Stadium. “Shoutout to Tay Tay for putting on a couple of games in the rain,” Kelce said, acknowledging her dedication to her fans and the powerful performance she delivered despite the weather.
Jason Kelce, who attended the Miami show with his wife Kylie, mother Donna, and their daughters Wyatt and Elliot, shared his excitement about Swift’s rain-soaked concert. “This Miami show was amazing, rain and everything,” Jason said, adding that he texted Travis midway through to rave about Swift’s performance. “Man, it was on another level. The crowd was electric when she came out in her new outfit for the Reputation portion in the rain.”
Jason also cleared up a recent viral photo of him appearing to nap during Swift’s show. With a laugh, he told Travis, “You know I don’t nap!” He explained that he was closing his eyes to “feel the music” and insisted the photo was misleading. “My hands were hovering over my knees; you can’t sleep with your hands hovering. That’s impossible!” he joked.
The Miami concert marked a memorable experience for Jason’s family as it was the first time his daughters and mother attended one of Swift’s tour dates. Swift’s “Eras Tour,” which began in March 2023 and is set to end in December 2024, has captivated fans globally, including the Kelce family.
While Travis missed out on the Miami show due to his NFL commitments, he shared his excitement to catch Swift’s performances whenever possible. This week’s event and podcast appearance reaffirm Kelce’s enthusiasm for both his relationship and his place in Chiefs’ Kingdom, leaving fans eager to see more glimpses into his life on and off the field.
