Patrick Mahomes hilariously clapped back at Darrell “Housh” Doucette after the U.S. national flag team quarterback claimed that he’s better than the Kansas City Chiefs superstar.
Speaking to TMZ Sports, Doucette argued that he’d be a better fit to lead Team USA’s offense in flag football at the 2028 Olympics. “At the end of the day, I feel like I’m better than Patrick Mahomes because of my IQ of the game,” he said.
“I know, right now, he’s the best in the league. I know he’s more accurate. I know he has all of these intangibles. But when it comes to flag football, I feel like I know more than him.”
When pressed further, Doucette explained that NFL players with little experience playing flag football might have a hard time transitioning to the sport, which possesses a different play-style, field shape and team size. “I can only voice upon what I have seen and what I know of myself,” he continued.
“They have never played. So, I can easily say I’m better in flag football because they’ve never played. Now, if they take the time and actually put in the work, they should be better than me. They’re in the NFL, they’re elite. But I don’t think the transition would be as quick. I don’t think they would take the game as serious as we do.”
It didn’t take long for Mahomes to catch wind of Doucette’s slight dig. Taking to social media on Wednesday, the three-time Super Bowl champion shared the well-known 50 Cent meme in which the rapper questions why he’s involved in a feud.
Fans online got a kick out of the strange clash between Doucette and Mahomes, including Chiefs wide receiver Marquise Brown, who reposted his quarterback’s response alongside four crying laughing emojis.
