The Kansas City Chiefs took care of the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday Night Football in an instant classic of a game. The Ravens’ attempt at a comeback late in the fourth quarter was almost capped with a last-second touchdown before tight end Isaiah Likely’s toe was called out of bounds after review.

More than the entertaining thriller itself, the post-game reactions of Ravens players are getting most of the attention. First, Likely went off on a heckling Chiefs fan and then said he wasn’t impressed with the way the Chiefs played. Then, Ravens defender Roquan Smith threatened Patrick Mahomes in his remarks after the game.

Mahomes’ response amidst all this drama was a tongue-in-cheek trolling of the man of the hour, Isaiah Likely.

Mahomes told the 24-year-old pass-catcher out of Coastal Carolina to wear white cleats. This is referring to the late-game review which made it obvious that Likely was out of bounds on the TD play because of his black cleats clashing with the white lines.

Even though the Chiefs managed to hold off the Ravens’ comeback, Likely had a breakout game, finishing with 111 receiving yards and a touchdown. Mahomes finished the game 20/28 with 291 yards, a touchdown, and an interception.

These two teams met in the AFC Championship game last season and that game had a similar feel to it, the Chiefs holding off the Ravens’ fourth-quarter push. As two of the favorites in the conference, there is a good chance these teams will meet once again in the postseason.

How recent games have gone between the two teams, the Chiefs don’t have too much to worry about as they have won six of their last seven against Baltimore. At the same time, this might explain why the Ravens players were so salty after yet another demoralizing loss.
