Simone Biles Encourages Fans to ‘Support & Watch’ the 2024 Paralympics: ‘Don’t Forget’
KRISTY SPAROW/GETTY Simone Biles is supporting the 2024 Paralympians as they compete for gold in Paris. After the 27-year-old made history as the most decorated American gymnast in Olympic history just weeks before at the Summer Olympics, Biles is encouraging her fans to tune in for the Paralympic Games.
In an Aug. 29 post on X (formerly known as Twitter), Biles wrote, “Don’t forget the Paralympics are on! let’s support & watch these incredible athletes.” The gold medalist added a blue heart and wrote, “GO USA!!!!” The 2024 Paralympics kicked off this week after a breathtaking opening ceremony at Place de la Concorde on Aug. 28. Jackie Chan served as torchbearer, carrying the Games’ iconic flame through the streets of Paris. Steve Serio and Nicky Neives served as flagbearers, leading Team USA athletes like Oksana Masters and Hunter Woodhall to celebrate the start of 11 days of competition.
History was made early into the Paris Paralympics, with Sarah Adam becoming the first American woman to score in wheelchair rugby. Adam, 32, is also the first woman to play on the U.S. wheelchair rugby team. After the U.S. wheelchair rugby team’s win over Canada in the first game, Biles’ husband NFL player Jonathan Owens her followers as well. shared support for the team in a post on X, which she shared to Biles also reposted a handful of Paralympics posts on X, including a cute selfie from Team USA athletes during the opening ceremony and fun shots of the Paralympians spending time together in Paris.
