Simone Biles made a surprising confession about Tom Cruise and the closing ceremony after racking up medals at the Paris Olympics last month.

Speaking on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon on Wednesday, Biles was asked which part of the Games made her the ‘most nervous’.

But it was not performing her signature Yurchenko double pike, taking on the balance beam, or sticking her landings on floor exercises. What rattled Biles most was handing the Olympic flag to Cruise at the Games’ conclusion. The Grain Dole: How Ancient Rome’s vital public welfare system was weaponized by politicians Fallon noted how cool it was that Biles got to carry the Olympic flag and hand it to Cruise, adding how stressful the handoff must have been. ‘I’m always tripping, falling down stairs, like, bad for me, Biles shared. ‘So actually, that’s like the most nervous I was for the whole entire Olympics. I was like, ‘Okay, I have to hand the flag off, don’t mess it up, don’t mess it up.’ I was terrified.’

Biles spoke briefly about competing at the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles and noted how ‘old’ she was at 27 – by gymnastics standards. Her age aside, Biles racked up three golds and a silver in the French capital to become the most decorated American gymnast in history. While adding more hardware to her collection, Biles also sported an iconic GOAT silver necklace. After another successful Olympic campaign, Biles will star in the Gold Over America Tour this fall while making time to support husband Jonathan Owens and the Chicago Bears.

Biles will headline the 30-city gymnastics tour. Joining her on the roster are Team USA teammates Jade Carey and Jordan Chiles and nine other athletes. Men’s gymnastics medalists Stephen Nedoroscik, Fred Richard, Paul Juda, and Brody Malone will also participate in the star-studded tour.
