Eric Jones Opens Up About Welcoming Taylor Swift into Travis Kelce’s Inner Circle

As Taylor Swift continues to dominate headlines, her relationship with Kansas City Chiefs’ star tight end, Travis Kelce, has caught the attention of fans and media alike. While Swift’s appearances at the Chiefs’ games earlier in the season have fueled excitement, Kelce’s best friend, Eric Jones, recently shared how welcoming the global pop star into their tight-knit circle has been a positive and refreshing experience.

Jones, who has been friends with Kelce since childhood, reminisced about their long-lasting bond. Growing up together in Cleveland Heights, Ohio, the two have shared countless memories, from playing on the same hockey team as kids to sitting in the Chiefs’ private suite together as adults. Despite the added attention from Swift’s involvement, Jones emphasized that their group’s dynamic remains the same. “I’m never going to downplay the hype or say the new attention isn’t the coolest stuff in the world,” Jones told Page Six. “But at the same time, all we got to do is be us. The only thing that’s changed is there’s a camera in the suite now.”

Though Swift has missed the last two Chiefs games, Jones spoke about her presence during the first two matches of the season. He noted the positive impact Swift has had on their circle of friends, as well as on Kelce himself. While the media frenzy surrounding her appearances might seem overwhelming to some, Jones highlighted how the group has embraced the attention without letting it change who they are.

Beyond his close friendship with Kelce, Jones is also an entrepreneur. In 2017, he founded Homebred Legends, a lifestyle and clothing brand dedicated to the spirit of Cleveland Heights. Kelce has been a vocal supporter of Jones’ brand, often sporting Homebred gear, including during appearances on the popular New Heights podcast. Most notably, Kelce wore one of the brand’s trucker hats during the Chiefs’ home opener in early September.

“I wanted to do something that represented me, my friends, and my city,” Jones explained, reflecting on the pride he and Kelce share for their hometown. “Travis and Jason [Kelce] are great spokespeople for Cleveland Heights as well, so we just have a lot of pride out where we’re from.”

When asked about Swift’s involvement in game-day traditions, Jones praised her easygoing nature and individuality. He shared that while Swift is welcome to participate in themed nights, there is no pressure for her to do so. “Taylor’s great,” Jones said. “She’s her own woman, and if she wants to participate, of course, we welcome it. But at the end of the day, just having her there and her presence is awesome. She’s there to cheer on her boyfriend and hang out with us, and to be quite honest, that’s enough.”

As the world watches Swift and Kelce’s relationship unfold, it’s clear that, for their inner circle, the focus remains on friendship, loyalty, and supporting each other—whether under the bright lights of Arrowhead Stadium or off the field.
