Caitlin Clark’s boyfriend Connor McCaffery has officially landed a new job – but he won’t be moving away from the Indiana Fever star.

After serving as the basketball development coordinator for the NBA‘s Indiana Pacers last season, McCaffery – a former college player at the University of Iowa – is joining Butler University as an assistant coach, the school confirmed on Monday.

Lucky for the couple, McCaffery won’t be leaving Indianapolis, as Butler is also located in Indiana’s capital.

The school announced the hire with an Instagram post which Clark re-posted to her story.

‘yayy! so happy for you,’ she wrote with a white heart emoji while tagging McCaffery.

Butler head coach Thad Matta added in a statement, ‘Following a high-level playing career, Connor has had the opportunity to both contribute and learn alongside one of the best staffs in the NBA.’

‘Those experiences will be very valuable to our staff. He obviously comes from a basketball family that I know very well and I’m excited for the impact he is going to have on our program both quickly and in the long run.’

McCaffery’s move to Butler’s staff was first reported upon last week by Akeem Glaspie of the Indianapolis Star.

The 26-year-old, who appeared in 166 games for Iowa across six seasons, is the son of the program’s longtime men’s basketball coach Fran McCaffery.

Connor’s brother Patrick, who also spent five years playing at Iowa, will be spending his final college season at Butler as well.
