On Friday night, Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever faced A’ja Wilson and the Las Vegas Aces for the second time in three days. The Aces defeated the Fever, 86-75, on Wednesday, moving to 3-0 on the season against Indiana.
Less than five minutes into the first quarter on Friday, Clark picked up a technical foul for an outburst underneath the basket. This marked her sixth technical foul on the season, one shy of being suspended for a game.
In the WNBA, players are suspended for one game after picking up their seventh technical foul in a season. An additional one-game suspension is handed out for every other tech after the seventh (9th, 11th, 13th … ).

Fortunately, for Clark and WNBA fans, technical fouls reset in the playoffs. With only two games remaining for the Fever in the regular season, it seems pretty unlikely the former Iowa star would pick up a seventh.
However, fans are still worried about a looming suspension for Clark after picking up her sixth tech. They took to social media to leave their thoughts.
“Caitlin Clark receives her 6th technical foul, her 7th will result in a one game suspension,” one fan said.
“If Caitlin Clark gets one more technical foul, then she’ll be suspended a game”
“Here we go the WNBA refs calling a bad game again. Caitlin Clark should just sit out this game.”
Clark is tied with Phoenix Mercury stars Diana Taurasi and Kahleah Copper for the second-most technicals on the season. The only player to receive a suspension for seven techs is Natasha Cloud, also a member of the Mercury.
