Feel the Power of Faith and Fellowship in Richard Goodall’s Stirring Cover of Reba McEntire’s Beloved Hit

Best known from McEntire’s 2017 Christian music album, the song was originally recorded by Randy Houser in 2008. McEntire explained to Rolling Stone, “I had to make it different because [Houser’s version] was so good. But it’s a great song! Everyone was saying, ‘Oh my gosh, we need this song right now.’ Well, we’ve always needed this song.”

McEntire described the song as one about fellowship and the power of God bringing people together. Reflecting on her album, she told The Oklahoman, “I think this album really helped… keep me focused on something good, positive, and healing, which is what music is. These songs of faith and hope are essential during tough times — and good times. You need faith and hope to get through each day.”
