It looks very likely LeBron James will not win another NBA championship, as the Los Angeles Lakers currently have a roster that is good but not great. However, he can still add to his resume as his career starts to wind down.
He made a record 20th All-Star game appearance last season and averaged 25.7 points, 8.3 assists and 7.3 rebounds while shooting 54% from the field and a career-high 41% from 3-point range. Several weeks ago, he also helped lead Team USA men’s basketball to an Olympic gold medal while being named the MVP of the men’s basketball tournament in Paris.
James also became the oldest player to ever be named to an All-NBA team this past season. ESPN personality Kendrick Perkins made a bold proclamation when he said the 39-year-old will make at least two more All-NBA teams before he retires (h/t The Cold Wire).
On the other hand, if he wants to strengthen his argument as arguably the greatest NBA player ever, he will have to find a way to win another world championship ring or two. Unfortunately, a lot of that is currently beyond his control.
