Kate Middleton, Prince William and their children George, Charlotte, and Louis have the luxury of a third, exclusive hideaway to call their own.
This covert sanctuary is so well-concealed that it remains unknown to most. Dubbed Tam-Na-Ghar cottage, this quaint home was presented to Prince William by his late great-grandmother, the Queen Mother, just before she passed away in 2002.
Nestled within the expansive 50,000-acre Balmoral estate, the three-bedroom abode revels in such privacy that it’s believed no photographs of it exist.

Prince William and Kate’s very long holidays ‘raise eyebrows’ within Royal Family
They’ve reportedly shared with friends that some of their fondest moments took place within its walls, reports the Mirror.
n a 2019 visit to Balmoral, the Wales family chose Tam-Na-Ghar for their stay. A Vanity Fair insider shared, “The Queen has a lot of guests coming and to ease the pressure the (then) Cambridges are likely to stay at the cottage. That could have added benefits for everyone as it means more space in the castle.”
With over 150 structures on the Balmoral grounds, including the celebrated Balmoral Castle and King Charles’s residence, Birkhall, there’s speculation that William and Kate may frequent their secluded Scottish retreat and perhaps their Norfolk haven, Anmer Hallmore regularly in times ahead.
Royal expert Katie Nicholl has observed that William and Kate, have adopted a more traditional Royal approach to their family holidays, choosing to stay closer to home. Speaking to OK! she noted that their recent holidays have been more low-key, filled with fun outdoor activities, but primarily within the UK.
She shared with OK!: “Summer holidays at Anmer are the perfect way for Kate and William to decompress. If there are royal engagements for them, they’ll be few and far between. While in the past we’ve seen the couple enjoy more lavish holidays skiing or visiting sunnier climates, they’ve been adopting a more traditional royal approach and spending their time at royal residences in the UK instead.”
“This could obviously be the result of Covid travel restrictions but I also believe that Kate and William are transforming into the future King and Queen and therefore are adopting more traditional practices.”
