While the Kansas City Chiefs are 3-0 to start the 2024 NFL season, Travis Kelce isn’t performing particularly well, or at least not up to the standard he set for himself. And there’s now a conspiracy theory floating around about a possible deterioration in his relationship with teammate Patrick Mahomes.

Kelce and Mahomes have been best buds for a while and are known to spend a lot of time together off the field. But they haven’t connected on the field like fans have become used to so far this season.

The Chiefs beat the Atlanta Falcons 22-17 on Sunday night to improve their record, with Kelce making a meager four receptions for 30 yards. With three games gone this season, the star tight end has only registered eight catches for a total of 69 yards.

Swifties have come up with a theory suggesting that Brittany Mahomes has told her husband to limit his throws to Kelce because of Taylor Swift’s public endorsement of Kamala Harris.

“I can’t prove it, but I’m pretty sure Brittany Mahomes told Patrick to not throw it to Travis Kelce since Taylor endorsed Kamala,” one wrote on social media.

“My husband just said the same thing,” someone added.

“So what now ? Pat hates Kelce theories..” another wrote.

Patrick Mahomes Has Explained The Reason For Travis Kelce’s Lack Of Targets This Season

Patrick Mahomes has since claimed that the Chiefs are drawing up plays for Kelce but are not able to execute them because of the type of coverage the TE has been dealing with this season.

“Yeah, it’s crazy because teams still — the respect factor they have for Travis is just unreal,” he told reporters after last night’s win vs. Atlanta, per ProFootballTalk.com. “It’s well-deserved, but we’re calling a lot of plays for Travis, and it’s like two or three people are going to him. So, I mean, he understands.

“I think that’s the great thing about him is he wants to make an impact on the game, but he wants to win at the end of the day.”
