Patrick Mahomes Dad Sentenced To 5 Years Probation For DWI In TX

Just a few days before his son, Patrick Mahomes II won another Super Bowl championship, Patrick Mahomes Sr. found himself in big trouble in Tyler after being pulled over for another DWI.

Patrick Mahomes Sr. Was Arrested Feb. 24 after a traffic stop resulted in him submitting blood with an alcohol content of 0.23. .

Mahomes’ arrest affidavit claimed he was tested due to an open alcohol container being visible in the center console of his vehicle. Additionally, the officer noted that Mahomes’ registration had been expired since September of 2022.

Jail records show Mahomes was arrested twice in March and September of 2012, 2 more arrests in 2018 and one more back in 2019 for DWI second or more for which he was sentenced to 40 days in jail.

He reportedly served the time on weekends to fulfill his requirement.

As part of his guilty plea, Mahomes Sr. agreed to a five-year probation sentence with “intense” supervision for the first year during his court appearance in August. On Sept. 23rd he was formally sentenced to probation which include 160 community service hours, a substance abuse evaluation through the probation department, a life skills course, enrollment in the DWI repeat offender program and Alcohol Anonymous classes.

Under Texas law, Mahomes Sr. will have to serve 10 mandatory days in the county jail but, if Mahomes Sr. were to fail his probation, he could face 10 years in prison.

The senior Mahomes is from Lindale, TX.

But his trips to court won’t end here. On June 29, Mahomes was given an additional charge of driving while license invalid, to which he pleaded not guilty on July 26. He is set to appear for a pre-trial hearing in regards to the charge on Oct. 15.

The senior Mahomes is from Lindale who played in Major League Baseball from 1992 to 2003 with the Minnesota Twins, Boston Red Sox, New York Mets, Texas Rangers, Chicago Cubs, and Pittsburgh Pirates.
