“Hoje esse prêmio individual acabou sendo vinculado ao prêmio coletivo. Eu fico muito feliz com isso, porque o futebol realmente é um esporte coletivo e ninguém conquista nada sozinho.

São raros os nomes que a gente vê de alguém que conquistou a Bola de Ouro sem ter sido o grande protagonista de uma conquista coletiva. Agora, quem me vem à mente é o Ronaldo, que conquistou uma Copa UEFA com a Inter e foi o melhor jogador do mundo. Mas o Ronaldo também transcende, é um dos raros nomes que consegue transcender essa conquista coletiva”, iniciou em entrevista ao ge.

Após Kaká, que levou o prêmio em 2007, poucos foram os jogadores brasileiros que se destacaram no futebol internacional a ponto de serem cogitados para ficar com a Bola de Ouro. “Acredito que o Neymar só não foi escolhido o melhor jogador do mundo por não ter sido esse protagonista numa conquista coletiva. Mesmo tendo sido muito importante naquela do Barcelona na Champions League, o Messi acabou se sobressaindo como protagonista.
