Heroic Veterinarian Rescues and Adopts Canine Family Trapped in Landslide
A few days ago, veterinarian Son Boyums found himself on a farm in the remote central region of Türkiye’s Kayseri province, engaged in his usual work with the animals.
His routine changed abruptly when he heard a dog’s distressing cries echoing from a distant area that had recently experienced a landslide.
Unable to ignore the emotional plea, Boyums quickly made his way toward the source of the cries. Upon arrival, he discovered a dog trapped up to its neck in the rubble and dirt.
Recognizing the dire situation, Boyums swiftly grabbed a shovel and started digging to free the dog.
As he carefully removed the dirt surrounding the frantic dog, he heard more faint barks coming from beneath the rocks.
Realizing that other dogs were likely buried alive, Boyums transitioned to using his hands to dig, wary that the shovel might harm the puppies.
Operating with urgency, Boyums painstakingly sifted through the debris using only his hands, determined to rescue the animals before it was too late. With perseverance, he uncovered each dog, hoping desperately for their survival.
Boyums suspected that the mother dog had chosen the location in the hills as a safe haven for her litter, only to be caught unawares by the landslide.
After two intense hours of digging, he successfully rescued eight dogs. Tragically, one did not make it, but joy came when the mother dog was united with her seven surviving puppies.
A quick examination revealed that both the mother and her puppies appeared unharmed, with no visible injuries. Deeply touched by the experience, Boyums decided to adopt the canine family, offering them a secure and loving home.
Thanks to Boyums’ compassion and swift action, the dogs were saved from a life of uncertainty and danger.
