And with more than a week to go before Super Bowl LIX, Mahomes is getting candid about his special talents outside of football.
The Chiefs sat down with their #1 QB for a Q&A session, where we got to know many things about him. And we got to know what his hobbies are outside of football. “Obviously golf’s one, but one that people don’t know about is I am a great ping-pong player.” Hmm, that was something very refreshing to get to know about the 2024 Super Bowl MVP.
Patrick Mahomes is saying it’s not just a hobby, he is good at it. A good ping-pong player needs fast reflexes. Mahomes – Check. High game IQ – well, that’s just what makes Mahomes special, isn’t it? We are not saying he is the only one who specializes in multiple sports, but to be one does make you exceptional and showcase your cognitive power.
Apart from that, you obviously need quick footwork and agility to be a good ping-pong player. And you need agile and quick footwork to be one of the best QBs in the NFL. Whatever it is, it sure helps that when Mahomes ain’t on the grass, he can get a certain amount of practice playing ping-pong.
It’s a day of big reveals as far as Mahomes is concerned, but there was one particular reveal that even Mahomes couldn’t believe.
Just today, a deal went down that many people are saying is one of the most shocking deals in NBA history. Anybody who knows how good Luka Doncic is will say no way a team will give him away. I mean, they will laugh at you if you say you think it can happen. Time to go to the doctor? Well, ask that to the Dallas Mavericks. They just traded Doncic to the Lakers.
And if your reaction is – “WHAT?”, you are not far off from Patrick Mahomes who is a Mavericks fan. “Wait what?” was the Chiefs QB’s reaction. And as if he thought it was still a joke, and eventually when reality settled on him, he retweeted his message saying, “I’m sick rn….” Not just you, Mahomes. Every Mavericks fan is feeling uneasy about this trade.
Doncic was being touted to be the player who the Mavericks would build the team around. And they are trading him away? Mavericks General Manager gave his defense for the deal that will see Anthony Davis and Max Christie join the Mavericks, and they will also get a first-round pick in the 2029 Draft. But even experts can’t make sense of the logic.
However, we’ll have to move on from this one. I mean, Mahomes himself doesn’t have time to think about the trade. Afterall his focus as of right now is getting that 3-peat somehow
