Warriors Reveal Jonathan Kuminga News After 21 Missed Games..

The Golden State Warriors sent a clear message about their NBA championship aspirations after acquiring Jimmy Butler from the Miami Heat as part of a multi-team trade. Now, the Warriors are hoping the new trio of Butler, Steph Curry and Draymond Green can help them win the fifth title of the recent dynasty. And they could be receiving some help more help in the near future. On Wednesday, ahead of Golden State’s first game since All-Star Weekend against the Sacramento Kings, Warriors Public Relations revealed on X that forward Jonathan Kuminga has returned to practice for the first time in over a month. “Warriors forward Jonathan Kuminga, who suffered a sprained right ankle on January 4 vs. Memphis and has missed the last 21 games, returned to team practice this evening at Chase Center for the first time since sustaining the injury. His return to game action will be based on his continued progress and physical readiness.”

Kuminga had played in 32 games before suffering a right ankle sprain on Jan. 4. In those contests, the No. 7 pick in the 2020 NBA Draft has averaged 16.8 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.2 assists, proving himself as one of the better bench players in the league. Butler and Kuminga have yet to see the court together as the latter has been out. However, Butler has played in four games with his new team, helping them to a 3-1 record with 21.3 points per game. Following the Kings game, the Warriors will hit the road for a two-game trip against the Dallas Mavericks and the Charlotte Hornets on Sunday and Tuesday, respectively.

Warriors Get Bad News On $228 Million Trade Target.

he Warriors have long fantasized about adding Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo next to Stephen Curry in pursuit of a fifth championship in the Steve Kerr era. However, the odds of that happening continue to shrink.

In an interview with Greece’s COSMOTE TV, Antetokounmpo confirmed that he has no intention of seeking a trade from the Bucks at any point in his career.

“I don’t think that I would ever text (and ask for a trade), I am not this kind of guy, they would have to kick me out,” Antetokounmpo said, via EuroHoops.

Earlier in the interview, Antetokounmpo joked about the Bucks trading him to a smaller market like the Detroit Pistons, citing the example of the Mavericks moving Luka Doncic to the Lakers.

“At least Luka went from Dallas to LA why you are sending me to Detroit?” he asked jokingly. “NBA is business if I got traded I would inform my family and would do my job.”
