Since trading Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers, the Dallas Mavericks have seen a surge in leaks about the star’s weight, work ethic, and overall habits, which were cited as the main reasons for moving on from one of the NBA’s brightest young talents.

The Lakers, however, are less concerned about these issues and believe Doncic may be extra motivated by the criticisms, though some around the league have shared similar concerns about his discipline dating back to his early career.

Sam Amick of “The Athletic” reported that doubts about Doncic’s weight and social habits existed even before he entered the NBA, with some predicting these issues could lead to a decline in his career within the next five years.

Despite these concerns, Doncic has consistently dominated at every level, and now, with the Lakers, he has the perfect chance to refine his habits under the mentorship of LeBron James, who is known for his elite commitment to physical conditioning.

Rather than letting the criticism define him, Doncic is likely to use it as motivation to prove his doubters wrong and push himself toward winning a championship for the Lakers.
