NHL announces when suspensions for Connor McDavid and Tyler Myers will be given out

According to new reports from NHL insider David Pagnotta, Player Safety will announce their decisions to discipline Connor McDavid and Tyler Myers after their hearings on Monday.The NHL gave automatic hearings to both McDavid and Myers for their cross check plays at the end of last night’s game between the Oilers and Canucks.NHL will announce suspensions after hearings Monday morningAccording to Pagnotta, Player Safety will hold their hearings for McDavid and Myers on Monday, after which the announcements will be made.Usually, player safety’s hearings are held in the afternoon from the NHL’s head office in eastern standard time.Hopefully, Oilers fans will be able to get a decision on McDavid’s availability by 12:00 MT tomorrow. The Department of Player Safety themselves even released a statement.Considering the fact that both McDavid and Myers will have remote hearings, the suspensions incoming will be less than 5 games, which is the maximum for a virtual hearing.Based on previous incidents that looked relatively similar, and that no player was seriously injured by either cross check, both suspensions are expected to be in the 1 to 3 game range. There could be a possibility Myers’ suspension is longer than McDavid’s.It’s unfortunate that McDavid has to miss any time with a suspension, but Oilers fans were overwhelmingly in favour of the captain standing up for himself in a scrum.The entire hockey world is awaiting the NHL’s decision on a highly public case involving the league’s best player. Hopefully for the Oilers, they won’t be without their captain for too long.
