Earlier this week, the football world learned the homes of Kansas City Chiefs star quarterback Patrick Mahomes and tight end Travis Kelce were broken into last month.

The night before a “Monday Night Football” showdown against the New Orleans Saints, Mahomes’ eight-acre estate, where he lives with pregnant wife Brittany and their two children, was broken into shortly after midnight on Oct. 6, according to multiple reports.

Kelce’s Leawood, Kansas, mansion, which he purchased in October 2023, was broken into the night of Kansas City’s game against the New Orleans Saints. The star tight end reportedly had $20,000 in cash stolen from the property, which sported a damaged back door.

Following the scary incidents, Mahomes reportedly made the decision to “beef up” security around his home. The gated community he lives in reportedly did the same.

Here’s more, via TMZ:

Our sources with direct knowledge of the situation tell us in the days after Mahomes’ Belton mansion was broken into on Oct. 6 … the Chiefs star heightened safety measures around his home.

In addition, we’re told the gated community that Mahomes lives in also made some security moves … in an effort to put its members’ minds at ease.

TMZ reported the FBI is investigating both burglaries.

“The feds are working with local law enforcement agencies to investigate the burglaries at the homes of Kansas City Chiefs stars,” TMZ said.

As for the Chiefs quarterback, he said the incident is disappointing but added he can’t get into details because there is an ongoing investigation underway.

“It’s frustrating, it’s disappointing,” Mahomes told reporters. “I can’t get into too many of the details because the investigation is ongoing, but obviously it’s something you don’t wanna happen to anybody, obviously yourself.”

Mahomes and Kelce are focused on keeping the Chiefs undefeated with a massive showdown against the Buffalo Bills looming this weekend.
