During the second quarter of the Kansas City Chiefs win over the San Francisco 49ers, Travis Kelce’s frustrations got the better of him and head coach Andy Reid bore the brunt.

Kelce was visibly annoyed at being taken out of the game after Isiah Pacheco fumbled the ball in the red zone.

He proceeded to scream in 65-year-old Reid’s face on the sidelines and barge into his coach, who was taken by surprise and stumbled.

A raging Kelce had to led away by teammate Jerrod McKinnon and told to calm down.

Analysing the incident at half-time, CBS’ Boomer Esiason said it showed the frustration the Chiefs were under.

But by the end, all was forgotten as the Chiefs closed out a thrilling victory – with Kelce and Reid both laughing off the incident.

Speaking of Reid following the Chiefs’ victory, Kelce told reporters: “I got the greatest coach this game has ever seen, he’s unbelievable.

“He’s unbelievable at not only dialing up plays and having everybody prepared, but he’s one of the best leaders of men I have ever seen in my life.

“He’s helped me a lot with that. With channelling that emotion, channelling that passion.

“And I owe my entire career to that guy. To be able to kind of control how emotional I get. I just love him.”

As for Reid, he joked: “He caught me off balance. Normally I’d give him a little but I didn’t have any feet under me.”

In Vegas, the Chiefs left it late to win back-to-back Super Bowls, but they managed it by beating the 49ers 25-22 in overtime.

Needing a field goal to extend the game or a touchdown to win, Chiefs’ quarterback Patrick Mahomes orchestrated events to end the game with a touchdown pass to Mecole Hardman Jr.

It is the first time since the Patriots in 2004 that a team has won two in a row.

Kelce’s high-profile relationship with pop star Taylor Swift meant there was even greater focus on him in Las Vegas, and the pair embraced on the pitch after the victory.

It was not being first time this season the tight end has lost his cool at Reid, though any professional athlete will tell you this happens when everyone is in the zone.

Kelce also had a meltdown in the 14-20 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders on Christmas Day.

After the Chiefs offense was stopped by the Raiders near the end of the first half, a visibly frustrated Kelce launched his helmet down the sideline.

Head coach Reid appeared to have stern words for the All-Pro tight end and even pushed the helmet away so Kelce could not immediately get it back at that moment.

Days later on his New Heights podcast with brother Jason, Travis explained his version of events.

“He’s looking out for me and I love him for it,” he said of his coach.

“I didn’t go back out there and play good. He wanted to see the fire in me and I reacted in a bad way.

“He wanted to get the best out of me but right now I’m not playing my best football and I gotta lock the f*** in and be more accountable for him and be more accountable for my teammates.
