The Kansas City Chiefs took care of the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday Night Football in an instant classic of a game. The Ravens’ attempt at a comeback late in the fourth quarter was almost capped with a last-second touchdown before tight end Isaiah Likely’s toe was called out of bounds after review.

More than the entertaining thriller itself, the post-game reactions of Ravens players are getting most of the attention. First, Likely went off on a heckling Chiefs fan and then said he wasn’t impressed with the way the Chiefs played. Then, Ravens defender Roquan Smith threatened Patrick Mahomes in his remarks after the game.

Mahomes’ response amidst all this drama was a tongue-in-cheek trolling of the man of the hour, Isaiah Likely.

NFL News: Patrick Mahomes Trolls Ravens TE Isaiah Likely After Week 1 Matchup

Mahomes told the 24-year-old pass-catcher out of Coastal Carolina to wear white cleats. This is referring to the late-game review which made it obvious that Likely was out of bounds on the TD play because of his black cleats clashing with the white lines.

Even though the Chiefs managed to hold off the Ravens’ comeback, Likely had a breakout game, finishing with 111 receiving yards and a touchdown. Mahomes finished the game 20/28 with 291 yards, a touchdown, and an interception.

These two teams met in the AFC Championship game last season and that game had a similar feel to it, the Chiefs holding off the Ravens’ fourth-quarter push. As two of the favorites in the conference, there is a good chance these teams will meet once again in the postseason.

How recent games have gone between the two teams, the Chiefs don’t have too much to worry about as they have won six of their last seven against Baltimore. At the same time, this might explain why the Ravens players were so salty after yet another demoralizing loss.

In a highly charged game that saw the Kansas City Chiefs face off against the Baltimore Ravens, fans have been left fuming over several controversial moments that have sparked a social media firestorm. The game, which was expected to be a thrilling encounter between two powerhouse teams, has instead become the center of a heated debate involving an untimely timeout, key player decisions, and on-field tempers flaring.

Timeout Controversy:

The first flashpoint of controversy came late in the fourth quarter when the Chiefs, trailing by a narrow margin, were seemingly denied a crucial timeout that could have changed the outcome of the game. The situation unfolded when the Chiefs were in a critical drive, pushing for a game-winning score. With the clock ticking down, a questionable delay in granting the timeout left fans and analysts bewildered. Many believe that the delay was unjust and robbed the Chiefs of a fair chance to close the gap, leading to widespread criticism of the NFL’s officiating.

Rashee Rice’s Role Under Scrutiny:

Adding fuel to the fire, rookie sensation Rashee Rice’s performance and subsequent sidelining became a focal point of fan frustration. Rice, who had been a standout player throughout the season, was unexpectedly benched during a crucial drive. Fans took to social media to express their disbelief and anger, questioning the coaching staff’s decision and the timing of Rice’s absence. Critics argue that his presence could have made a significant difference in the final outcome, further fueling the debate over coaching decisions.

Isaiah Likely’s Explosive Reaction:

The drama reached a boiling point when Ravens’ tight end Isaiah Likely had a spectacular on-field outburst. Likely, known for his emotional intensity, was seen visibly upset following a controversial play that he felt was mishandled by the referees. His reaction, which included animated gestures and a heated exchange with officials, quickly became a talking point. While some supporters applauded Likely’s passion and drive, others criticized him for his lack of composure, sparking a divided reaction among fans.

Fan Outrage:

The combination of these contentious moments has led to a tidal wave of backlash against the NFL. Fans of both teams have expressed their dissatisfaction, accusing the league of mismanagement and bias. Social media platforms have been inundated with posts, memes, and hashtags condemning the decisions made during the game. Many are calling for a review of officiating standards and greater transparency in decision-making processes to prevent such controversies in the future.

As the dust settles, the Chiefs vs. Ravens game will likely be remembered not just for its on-field drama, but for the heated debates and fan outrage it generated. Whether this backlash will lead to any significant changes in how the NFL handles similar situations remains to be seen, but one thing is clear: the passion of the fans is as intense as ever.
