NBA star LeBron James and rapper Drake used to be good friends. The two have spent time with each other in the past, but their relationship changed after the LA Lakers star attended Kendrick Lamar’s “The Pop Out: Ken & Friends” concert. At that time, both rappers were beefing, releasing diss tracks at each other.

Looking at Drake

There has been speculation that James and Drake have had a fallout recently. This came after the Canadian artist unfollowed the four-time champion on Instagram. While he wasn’t the only celebrity that the music icon unfollowed, fans have started speculating on what their relationship is like after the events that transpired, given how close they were.

The two also idolize each other. James used the song “Started from the Bottom” in NBA 2K14, where the NBA star handpicked the list of songs for the video game.

As for Drake, he’s honored the basketball icon by having a tattoo of the star. The tattoo is of a high school version of James, wearing his iconic high school jersey. The artwork was placed on his left bicep.

According to multiple reports, Drake got his LeBron James tattoo back in 2018. The artist behind it was Inal Bersekov, who’s known to make portraits of famous celebrities and pop culture characters.

While the artist usually posts his work on his personal Instagram account, he opted not to share the work he did on the rapper’s arm. Bersekov has also done other artwork on Drake. In May 2018, the artist posted a photo of him doing a different tattoo job on the famous artist’s right arm.

James isn’t the only NBA player the famed rapper has honored through his tattoos. He also has the numbers of Steph Curry and Kevin Durant inked on his arm. Drake is also good friends with the former teammates, often showing support to them.

James was featured in a music video for the song “Forever.” Originally, the song was intended for the documentary of the basketball star, “More than a Game.” Also, Drake wasn’t alone in the song as Lil Wayne, Kanye West and Eminem took part in making it.

The four-time MVP has also returned the favor multiple times. In the summer of 2023, James walked with Drake to the stage during his “It’s All A Blur” tour at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. Bronny James was also with them as they entered the venue in iconic fashion.

Fans react to Drake’s tattoo of LeBron James

Fans had fun after they found that Drake unfollowed LeBron James on social media. While the rapper’s activity on Instagram was noticeable, they haven’t forgotten that he still has a tattoo of James on his arm.

“He can unfollow but that tattoo of LeBron is on him forever😂✌🏾” one fan commented.

“Unfollowing Lebron and you got him tatted on your body is such a h** **s n***a move 😂 Drake weak minded fr. He’s losing this beef,” another fan posted.

“Unfollowing Lebron James on social media means what when you have that man tatted on your body? Ok Drake lol,” a fan wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

Other fans predict that Drake might cover the tattoo up.

“20 min tat removal is all it takes😂” one fan pointed out.

“He’s gonna get it covered up don’t worry,” another fan said.

“I’m sure he can cover that if he wants,” a fan said.

There hasn’t been any update on whether Drake has covered the tattoo up since he saw James at Lamar’s concert.
