Brittany Mahomes Sparks Controversy: Shocking NFL Stadiums with Bold Praise for KC Current During Romantic Outing with Patrick!
“We’re surviving,” Brittany Mahomes joked during a storm delay at Arrowhead Stadium two days back. A frequent visitor to the NFL stadium, she huddled under Chiefs towels with daughter Sterling, as they waited out a 20-minute kickoff delay. Fast forward to her latest outing at CPKC Stadium, the home of NWSL team Kansas City Current and she’s not just surviving – she’s thriving, with a side of shade thrown at NFL venues.
Brittany is part of KC Current’s ownership group which includes her husband Patrick Mahomes and Chris and Angie Long. Having been associated with the soccer team since its inception in 2020, Brittany has been seen at CPKC stadium quite a few times this season already. She was in attendance for the historic opening game of the season in March and her latest trip had her praising the culinary delights at the venue.

The timing of Brittany’s culinary compliment coincides with a crucial moment for the KC Current. The team snapped a three-game losing streak with a 1-0 victory over Utah Royals. Temwa Chawinga’s goal in the 47th minute, her eighth consecutive match with a score, proved decisive.
The pregnant co-owner of KC Current couldn’t contain her enthusiasm after a date with hubby Patrick Mahomes during Current’s win, “I have never been to a stadium that has better food than we do at cpkcstadium,” Brittany Mahomes declared on her Instagram stories, adding, “and I’m gonna need some more of those apple pies.” This surprising food review came as she and Chiefs QB1 munched on the praised pastries during the game. The Mahomes’ presence at the game, sporting matching KC Current jerseys and caps, didn’t go unnoticed either.
The KC Current also posted on Instagram about the Mahomes being at the stadium. Their post included a click of the couple together, and the video of them munching on apple pies.
Meanwhile, CPKC Stadium, dubbed the “Home of the first SOLD OUT women’s sports stadium in the world” by KC Current’s social media, seems to be scoring points off the field as well. This glowing review from Brittany isn’t just about satisfying pregnancy cravings; it’s a subtle dig at the fare served up in NFL stadiums, including the Chiefs’ own 75,000-plus seater Arrowhead. Still, it’s not as if she has had shabby food-related experiences at the stadium of the 2024 Super Bowl winners.
Last year in an interview with Eating Well, Britanny talked about what is her favorite food, drink, and snack in the Arrowhead VIP suite during KC Chiefs games. She said, “They always have chicken tenders, soft pretzels, sweet treats and fruit and veggie trays. Game days are meant to be enjoyed, so I try to make sure there is lots of fun food and drinks for our friends and family while still keeping the food safe for my kids!” Brittany mentioned how she has to take care of the food served and ensure it is free of peanuts. Both of the Mahomes’ children have food allergies, with their son Bronze having a severe peanut allergy.
The pregnant co-owner’s praise for the NWSL venue’s cuisine stands in stark contrast to her recent experiences at NFL stadiums. Apart from “surviving” a storm delay, she did a promotional gig in an interesting way that may not have sat well with NFL fans.
During the Chiefs’ thrilling 27-20 win over the Ravens, Brittany posted an Instagram story promoting the Alani Nu energy drinks to stay awake for the Chiefs’ Week 1 opener. She wrote, “But like the only thing that keeps me awake during the night’s games.”
Brittany and Patrick were also in attendance at the CPKC Stadium during the Current’s 1-0 over Atlético de Madrid on August 17 to win the Women’s Cup. The couple attended the game along with their two children and Brittany posted photos of the family day out on both her Instagram grid and stories. “From one game to the next! LETS GOOOOOOO @kccurrent” she wrote across a video of herself and her husband.
As much attention Brittany garners during her visits to Arrowhead, she was in the limelight during the opening game of Current’s season when they made history.
KC Current’s on-field success and Patrick Mahomes’s off-field support
During the opening day of the season at the CPKC told SportsCenter, “It’s been remarkable to be in the stadium and see the fans. I feel like I’m at Arrowhead. That’s the type of vibe I’m getting here.”
The Current’s bounce-back win mirrors the never-say-die attitude that’s made Patrick a three-time Super Bowl champ. It’s a spirit the soccer squad will need as they face what The Kansas City Star calls “a very daunting stretch of the 2024 season,” with their next three matches against fellow top-four NWSL clubs.
Brittany’s commitment to the team was evident at the stadium’s opening. “Kansas City! We’re here, we did it,” she told the crowd, as reported by US Magazine. “This is history, this is incredible, and for you guys to show up for these women in their own stadium is amazing.”

As the Current (11-3-5) sit in third place in the NWSL standings, they’ll need every bit of support from their high-profile owners. Patrick emphasized the importance of this project, telling SportsCenter in March, “I just want to give back in the best way possible and to be making history in women’s sports, I have my own daughter, to give them the platform that they deserve.”
With the Mahomes family in their corner, serving up enthusiastic support (and apparently, praising stadium snacks), the KC Current is proving they’re a force to be reckoned with, both on and off the field.
