Being good at what you do can come with its own set of unforeseen troubles. Just ask 7-time Olympic gold medalist Simone Biles. Juggling endless performances and celebrity appearances is all part of the game if she wants to keep her GOAT status untouchable. But with all that, finding time for herself to just chill can be a real challenge. Add in her husband Jonathan Owens’ NFL grind, and the pressure only intensifies. Luckily, the power couple finally found a way to hit pause on the madness and take a much-needed break from it all.

For sports fans around the world, November 15 definitely went down as historic. After months of speculation, former undisputed heavyweight boxing champion “Iron” Mike Tyson was set to face YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul in a high-octane match in Arlington, Texas. As the world waited to watch the titular action, Simone Biles and her bae also couldn’t keep away from the frenzy.
In his latest Instagram story, the Chicago Bears safety shared how he was all prepped up for some relaxing time at home with her gymnastics icon wife. In the social media update, only the feet of Biles and Owens could be seen, but it could also be noticed that they made a cozy set-up to help them enjoy the upcoming bout in style. From the quaint lighting of the room to having their socks on, the duo was ready for an intense night of watching scintillating action from the boxing ring.
In his IG story, Owens also urged his fans to chime in and show where their allegiance lies between the two contenders who are set to lock horns at the AT&T Stadium. While Paul’s popularity is immense among today’s folks, those who have been a fan of boxing for longer know what Tyson packs in his forearms, and Paul is in for the ride of a lifetime. With that in mind, tonight’s bout was somewhat projected as a clash between two generations but the now-retired boxer certainly had the advantage on his side in terms of both prolific skills as well as track record.

Naturally, both Simone Biles and Owens also seemed to be taken over by the fervor and made sure they were free for the night to watch the fight together. While they weren’t among the 80,000 fans in Texas tonight to witness the epic showdown in person, they seem to be in good company nonetheless. Hopefully, this was a night to remember for the gymnastics phenom and her NFL celebrity beau, even more so because, they have seldom been able to spend time together of late.
Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens have a lot of catching up to do
2024 was a hectic year for Simone Biles indeed. With eyes set on compensating for the troubles that unfolded in Tokyo three years ago, the 27-year-old WCC gymnast was on a warpath from the very beginning of the season. In both the Core Hydration U.S. Classic and the Xfinity U.S. Championships, Biles showed how she’s determined to make every opportunity count while on her redemption journey.
And surely enough, Owens was there in the stands to lend his vocal support, even when the weather wasn’t favorable. Then, when Simone Biles boarded the flight to Paris with her national teammates, the football star went out of his way to convince his new team to grant him leave so he could watch her make history in the City of Love.

When Biles returned to the USA after her Parisian campaign, only to hit the road once again for the second edition of the Gold Over America Tour, Owens was spotted in the stands cheering for her and other stars of the show for as many times as he could manage amidst his NFL duties. Now, with Simone’s season coming to an end, the couple is finally getting some time to spend together by watching basketball games and winning dart competitions. But do you think their excitement for tonight’s fight will ultimately be worth staying up late? Tell your predictions for the Tyson vs. Paul match in the comments below!
