The Kansas City Chiefs’ Week 18 match against the Denver Broncos has officially been scheduled, and it has a unique time slot.
The NFL keeps the Week 18 schedule TBD every year to give the games with playoff implications the best possible time slots. While the Chiefs’ Week 18 matchup with the Broncos doesn’t matter for Kansas City because they’ve clinched the AFC No. 1 seed, the game has huge AFC playoff implications for teams vying for the final playoff slot.
The game will be one of five games played on Sunday, Jan. 8, at 3:25 p.m. CT.
If Denver wins, it will have clinched its first playoff berth since 2015.
If the Chiefs win, the Cincinnati Bengals or Miami Dolphins each have a chance to clinch the final AFC playoff spot.
If the Dolphins beat the New York Jets in that scenario (also at 3:25 p.m. CT on Sunday), Miami would take the final AFC playoff spot.
