United States gymnast Simone Biles threw the first pitch before the Houston Astros played the Kansas City Royals on Friday night and was immediately pulled aside for a surprising request.

While the baseball players typically dish out the autographs during games, first baseman Jon Singleton found himself on the other end after Biles threw the ball to him ahead of the game.

The Olympic star did a great job of throwing the pitch; there will be plenty of athletes and celebrities who will see it and sulk, given the number of crappy pitches we’ve seen over the years. She was then approached by Singleton, who somehow had his pen ready as he requested an autograph.

Talk about being prepared…

Biles readily obliged before taking a photo with the first baseman and the Astros mascot. She also took a photo with manager Joe Espada and his daughter Viviana.

Simone Biles Has Had Some Practice

Biles was joined by her husband, Chicago Bears safety Jonathan Owens, and Team USA teammate Jordan Chiles. The gymnasts were spotted taking selfies with other Olympians from the Houston area before getting seated.

The Olympic gold medalist is no stranger to first pitches, having thrown them a handful of times before. But she did not get drawn into completing a flip on the field like she did in 2019, likely due to the calf injury she’s been dealing with since the games in Paris, France.

Still, fans were pleased to see her at Minute Maid Park following her remarkable exploits at the Olympics, where she won three gold medals and one silver.

The Astros also had an enjoyable outing as they beat the Royals 3-2 at home.
