Racist Cop Beats The Rock’s Daughter — Not Knowing Her Father Was Just Steps Away

A disturbing case of alleged police brutality took a shocking turn this weekend when the victim was revealed to be the daughter of global superstar Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson — and her father was nearby when it all happened.

The incident unfolded Saturday afternoon near a shopping plaza in downtown Los Angeles. According to multiple eyewitnesses and surveillance footage, 17-year-old Simone Johnson was walking to meet a friend when she was approached by an LAPD officer responding to a “suspicious person” call in the area. Within minutes, what should have been a simple interaction escalated into violence.

“He didn’t ask questions. He didn’t try to talk to her. He just grabbed her arm and started yelling at her to sit down,” said local resident Michael Nguyen, who captured part of the scene on his phone. “She was stunned. She said she didn’t do anything wrong — and then he shoved her to the ground.”

Witnesses say the officer repeatedly pushed Simone and even struck her once with a baton when she tried to shield herself. Bystanders screamed in protest, with several yelling, “She’s just a kid!”

What the officer didn’t know was that Dwayne Johnson was less than 100 feet away — inside a nearby gym where he had been filming a promotional segment. Moments after a panicked employee rushed in to tell him what was happening outside, Johnson came running out the front doors.

The scene that followed has since gone viral.

Videos now circulating online show The Rock sprinting toward his daughter and placing himself between her and the officer, who looked stunned when he realized who he was facing. Johnson, visibly shaking with emotion but maintaining control, demanded answers.

“You put your hands on my daughter? You shoved her, hit her — for what? Walking down the street?” he said in a low, restrained tone. “You didn’t know who she was, but that shouldn’t matter. You saw a young girl of color and treated her like a criminal.”

The officer attempted to explain that she “matched a description,” but Johnson cut him off.

“You don’t get to match a description and then beat someone before asking a single question,” he said. “This wasn’t law enforcement — this was abuse.”

Within minutes, more officers and supervisors arrived on the scene. Simone, who had sustained bruises on her arm and shoulder, was treated by paramedics and is now recovering at home. Dwayne Johnson later released a statement on social media expressing his anger — and calling for reform.

“My daughter is safe. But she is shaken, and so am I,” he wrote.
“She was treated like a threat — not a teenager. Not a daughter. Not a human being.
And what happened to her happens to far too many young women of color who don’t have a famous parent there to step in.”

The LAPD confirmed that the officer involved has been placed on administrative leave pending an internal investigation. Officials also released a statement saying:

“We take these allegations seriously and will fully review all bodycam and eyewitness footage.”

Public backlash was swift. Within hours, hashtags like #ProtectSimone, #TheRockStepsIn, and #EnoughIsEnough were trending across platforms. Activists and public figures have praised Johnson’s calm but powerful intervention — and are calling for systemic changes in policing practices.

Civil rights attorney Angela Brooks stated, “What saved Simone wasn’t policy. It was her father’s fame. That should terrify all of us.”

As for Johnson, his message remains clear:

“You don’t need to be The Rock to deserve respect. You just need to be human.”
