Andy Reid is thrilled for Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift to tie the knot!
The Kansas City Chiefs coach reacted to tight end’s big news in an interview with Kansas City sports radio 810 on Friday, Aug. 29.
”Listen, I’m happy for ’em,” Reid, 67, said. “It’s hard to find somebody that you fall in love with, that’s not an easy thing to really fall in love and it seems like they’re there.”
Reid, who both Swift and Kelce have winkingly said had a hand in playing cupid for them, has been supportive of their relationship since the start.
On Friday, he elaborated about his enthusiasm for the couple.
”I think it’s a great deal for both of them,” Reid said. “They like being around each other and that’s a plus I think.”

He added, “They’re both busy people in their own right, and both are very famous in their own right, so its kinda neat that they come together and handle themselves the way they do.”
The head coach shared in the past that he’s been a Swiftie since his days coaching the Philadelphia Eagles, based near her hometown of Reading, Pa.
“She’s been great. I knew her before, from Philadelphia,” Reid told Tom Brady on his show Let’s Go! in January 2024.
”Her dad [Scott Swift] played at [University of] Delaware and was a big football fan and good guy,” Reid explained. “So I had met him there and her.”

And just weeks before the couple announced their engagement, Reid was asked if he could share stories he’d want to tell about the couple at a potential future wedding. “Well there are a few I can’t tell,” Reid responded during his appearance on sports radio’s 96.5 The Fan with Fescoe and Dusty.
The hosts, naturally, playfully pried the coach an answer, to which he ultimately opened up about his star player. “No, there are a lot of great stories,” the Chiefs’ head said of Kelce.
”He’s done so many good things, all the things he’s done off the field that people don’t know about, just helping people out. He’s got a big heart that way and I appreciate that the most.”
During the same Aug. 7 interview, Reid complimented Swift’s music and revealed he’s a fan of her Red album. “Now listen, I knew her before he knew her,” he said on the show. “My family has been a big fan of hers, and we know her father and mother… from the Philadelphia area, Pennsylvania,” he said.
”Her dad is a huge football fan, so we hit it off with him,” he continued, adding, “Then she became this famous person, arguably the most famous woman in the world, since probably the Queen passed away.”
”She sure handles it the right way and that’s the part I appreciate the most,” he said of Swift.
