Bruins captain Brad Marchand is no stranger to dishing out chirps both on and off the ice.
The 36-year-old winger once again showcased his trash-talking skills ahead of Boston’s Black Friday matchup against the Penguins.
As part of TNT’s pregame coverage, Marchand took part in an interview with the network’s hockey panel during warmups.
It didn’t take long for TNT analyst and former NHL scrapper Paul Bissonnette to try and roast the Bruins captain about his busy offseason — which included three surgical procedures.
“Did one of those offseason surgeries include a Turkish hair transplant? You’re looking a little less thin up top,” Bissonnette said. “It looks great.”
It didn’t take long for Marchand to come up with a proper retort.
“Ah, no,” Marchand replied. “I’m just trying to look like those guys who beat the wheels off you the other night.”
Marchand’s comment is in reference to an incident earlier this week involving Bissonnette — with the popular NHL personality getting into a brawl with six men at a restaurant in Scottsdale, Ariz.
In a video that Bissonnette posted on social media earlier this week, the former Coyotes forward said he was trying to intervene while dining at the restaurant after the men were being belligerent to the staff.
After stepping in, Bissonnette and the six men started fighting — with the brawl spilling out of the restaurant and into the parking lot.
“Just bad dudes. Way too drunk and I don’t know what else they had in their system. I’m very, very angry at these guys and kind of want their names out there and kind of want them to pay the piper,” Bisonette said in his social media video.
“Unacceptable behavior at a family restaurant just because they couldn’t grab another cocktail and didn’t want to hear ‘no’ for an answer. At that point, with the guy all over the manager, I just figured I had to go over. Took some, gave more.”
According to a local Fox outlet in Arizona, all six men involved in the fight with Bissonnette were arrested for assault and disorderly conduct.
